New Music: Lil Wayne f/ Christina Milian – ‘Start a Fire’

Start a Fire

After debuting the song live at the AMAs, Lil Wayne rolls out the studio version of his new Carter V single “Start a Fire” featuring his YMCMB signee Christina Milian. The rumored couple play Bonnie and Clyde on the steamy duet.

“Mama I’m in love with a hot girl and they just don’t get it,” raps Weezy, while Tina Turn Up sings the hook.

“This record has actually been around for a second and actually while we were filming the show,” said Christina, who will star next year in the E! reality show “Christina Milian Turned Up.” “His manager Cortez heard the song and was like, ‘Wayne needs this on his album’ and literally when we were filming the episode while we were in the studio; that’s how that whole thing happened.”

The song will be included on the first part of Tha Carter V, which is set to drop on December 9.

Listen to Weezy and Christina bring the heat.

Rap-Up TV: B.o.B Talks New Album, ‘Fleek,’ and Working with Lil Wayne & Jodeci

With his Trey Songz-assisted single “Not for Long” rising up the charts, B.o.B is readying his fourth album for a spring 2015 release. In between dates on his “No Genre” tour, Rap-Up TV caught up with the Atlanta rapper in L.A. to discuss the follow-up to 2013′s Underground Luxury, which finds him returning to his roots.

“This album will be more like The Adventures of Bobby Ray to me,” he said of his 2010 debut. “But with an edge that The Adventures of Bobby Ray never had.”

The as-yet-untitled project, which he’s been producing himself, will have a rawness like his mixtape material. “When I say edge, I don’t mean like vulgarities like hardcore rap,” said B.o.B. “I just mean the rawness of a lot of my mixtapes and the early stuff when I was doing shit for the hell of it.”

He recently launched his label No Genre (“It quite simply means I can do what the f**k I feel like doing”) and showcased two of his artists, Lin-Z and London Jae, on the viral track “Fleek.”

“Fleek is on point, it’s dope, it’s flawless,” he explained. “You don’t want to be off fleek or no fleek.”

While he wouldn’t confirm it, he said there’s a “strong possibility” of a new collaboration between him and Lil Wayne on Tha Carter V.

However, he is featured on Jodeci’s comeback single “Nobody Wins.” “It is a really jammin’ song,” he said. “It’s a really refreshing sound. It kinda reminds me of like neo-soul meets Goodie Mob meets modern day music.”

Nicki Minaj Shoots ‘Only’ Video with Drake and Lil Wayne

Drake and Nicki Minaj

It was a Young Money reunion on set of the video for “Only.” Nicki Minaj linked up with her YMCMB brothers Drake and Lil Wayne while shooting scenes for the dark and sexy clip.

In the first photos from the set, the rap queen—donning a black bra and panties with sky-high platform heels and a veil—showed off her banging body while giving Drake and Weezy a peep show. Drizzy, who received a lap dance from Nicki in her “Anaconda” video, sat back in a chair and enjoyed the view.

Weezy couldn’t hide his excitement either, ogling Nicki’s “tit teez on fleek” while holding a bottle of her Myx moscato. Chris Brown is also featured on the Dr. Luke, Cirkut, and J Mike-produced song.

Look for the video to premiere soon, while Nicki’s third album The Pinkprint arrives December 15.

New Music: Lil Wayne f/ Flow – ‘Off Day’

Off Day

Carter season continues. Fresh off his collaboration with The Lox (“Gotti”), Lil Wayne links with his protégé Flow on the X Fyle-produced single “Off Day.” Weezy boasts about getting it in with a bad chick on the explicit bedroom banger.

Last month, he announced that his long-awaited album Tha Carter V would be delayed. He plans to release it in parts, the first dropping December 9.

“I got way too much to just give ya’ll half of it,” he said. “If I would’ve dropped the album today, it would have to be 12 or 13 songs. I refuse to do it. I refuse to cheat my fans. I refuse to cheat myself.”
