Larry King interviewed Mariah Carey on CNN’s “Larry King Live” on Wednesday (Nov. 4). She spoke about the pregnancy rumors, when will be the right time to have a child (“I cannot do the having-a-child thing halfway”), the definition of a diva, her thoughts on the Chris Brown-Rihanna situation, her own experiences with abuse, and plans to release another Christmas album.

Mariah Carey had a close call, slipping on a step, during her entrance on “The Jay Leno Show,” but remained a good sport, discussing her wedding, angelic Halloween costume, and homely role in Precious. She left the late-night host with a “Standing O” of his own while applying her perfume.

“You should be very proud of that. You did a wonderful job,” Leno said of her buzzed-about performance in the film. “Good luck at the Oscars!”

Mariah Carey, who says she had to drink “ugly juice” for her unglamorous role in Precious, and Nick Cannon were inseparable as they walked the red carpet, along with Oprah, Mary J. Blige, Will Smith, Paula Abdul, and Robin Thicke, at the AFI Fest screening of Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday (Nov. 1). The film opens in select theaters Friday.
