The long-delayed clip for the cover of Foreigner’s hit is a black eye on the career of Hype Williams, who’s directed classics such as Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin’” and TLC’s “No Scrubs.”

Mariah Carey keeps it “100” on her new uplifting song produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. The gospel-flavored anthem was originally intended for the Precious soundtrack before it was replaced by Mary J. Blige’s “I Can See in Color.” HOT 97 premiered it over the summer and it hasn’t been heard again until now.

Larry King interviewed Mariah Carey on CNN’s “Larry King Live” on Wednesday (Nov. 4). She spoke about the pregnancy rumors, when will be the right time to have a child (“I cannot do the having-a-child thing halfway”), the definition of a diva, her thoughts on the Chris Brown-Rihanna situation, her own experiences with abuse, and plans to release another Christmas album.

MC will ring in 2010 with a New Year’s Eve performance at Madison Square Garden. Nick Cannon will join his wife for a kiss at the stroke of midnight. Tickets go on sale to the general public on November 14.

Mariah Carey had a close call, slipping on a step, during her entrance on “The Jay Leno Show,” but remained a good sport, discussing her wedding, angelic Halloween costume, and homely role in Precious. She left the late-night host with a “Standing O” of his own while applying her perfume.

“You should be very proud of that. You did a wonderful job,” Leno said of her buzzed-about performance in the film. “Good luck at the Oscars!”
