Mariah Carey has been busy playing judge on “American Idol,” but she gets back to her first love, music. The big-voiced diva soars once more on “Almost Home,” the new single from Disney’s fantasy adventure film Oz The Great and Powerful, hitting theaters March 8.

Mimi belts out empowering lyrics on the triumphant tune, which she produced with Stargate and penned with Simone Porter, Justin Gray, Lindsey Ray, Tor Erik Hermansen, and Mikkel Eriksen.

“‘Almost Home’ has a message that works beautifully with the film,” said Mariah. “It’s a feel-good record, evoking the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love.”

David LaChapelle, who previously directed Mariah’s video for “Loverboy” and photographed her album covers, will helm the upcoming video.

Five years after getting married, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon haven’t lost the spark in their relationship. The lovebirds, who will celebrate their anniversary in April, enjoyed a festive Valentine’s Day.

The romantic evening started with the pop diva taking a bath and tweeting the pics. She even got a surprise visit from her dog Jill E. Beans.

“Aaaah! Jill E Beans leaps to the tub In hopes of a splash champagne – whhhhhy?!” tweeted Mimi.

The couple left their twins Roc and Roe at home and snuck out for a horse and carriage ride through Central Park. “Trespassing in Central Park ❤love on the wild side haaaaaa,” said Mariah. “A kiss delicately scented with horse dung…. Still romantic though.”

The evening ended back in their New York penthouse with Nick placing a box of chocolates and rose petals on the bed for his wife.

Meanwhile, Mariah has unveiled the artwork for “Almost Home,” her new single from Disney’s upcoming film Oz The Great and Powerful. The feel-good record, produced by Stargate, hits iTunes on February 19.

After months of salary negotiations, feuding, and drama, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey finally took their seats on the judging panel for the 12th season of “American Idol.” The dueling divas’ antics were caught on camera during the first round of auditions in New York. They teased one another, rolled their eyes, and shared laughs while trying to find the next superstar.

There were several highlights during Wednesday’s premiere including Nicki’s heartwarming speech to James Bae, who she dubbed the “Asian Bieber.” Mariah met many contestants who were also Lambs including Tenna Torres, who attended Camp Mariah when she was a child.

Blueberry farmer Sarah Restuccio impressed the judges with a country song, but she really shocked them when she busted out the lyrics to “Super Bass” as Nicki rapped along.

But it was Ben Gaisey who stole the show with his Michael Jackson “Thriller” costume. However, he wasn’t exactly able to thrill the judges with his talent. He serenaded the ladies, even throwing a pelvic thrust in Nicki’s direction.

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey were back on the job, attending a live Q&A during the season premiere screening of “American Idol” at Royce Hall at UCLA on Wednesday. Both ladies looked lovely as they fielded questions from their fans alongside fellow judges Keith Urban and Randy Jackson, and host Ryan Seacrest.

Mariah was battling a bit of bronchitis, but she happily took questions from her Lambs. “It’s ‘American Idol.’ It changed trends in music, it’s created massive superstars,” said MC of her decision to do the show. “I just had two babies, Roc and Roe, and I thought it would be a good thing for me to have something that was a little more stable than constantly working.”

Nicki consulted with those close to her including her Young Money boss before making her decision. “The last person I asked was Lil Wayne and he said absolutely do it,” explained Nicki. “That was my last thing where I found peace with it.”

Later that night, Nicki found out that she won the award for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist at the People’s Choice Awards. “Thanks Barbz!!!!!! My 1st People’s Choice Award. Yaaayyyyy!!!!!! How exciting… :) Nice of them to think of me. XOXO!!!!!!” she tweeted.

It’s a good thing Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey have settled their differences because they have a long week of promotion ahead of them leading up to the January 16 premiere of “American Idol.” The dueling divas took a seat alongside fellow judges Randy Jackson and Keith Urban during the 2013 Winter TCA (Television Critics Association) Tour at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena on Tuesday.

Mariah was glowing in a short green dress, while Nicki rocked a black wig and Louboutins, fielding questions about their feud and their participation in America’s No. 1 show.

When asked how they put aside their beef, Nicki joked, “I put on my sex tape,” while Mimi had a more serious answer. “I think time sorts everything,” she said.

When asked if she would have auditioned for “Idol,” Mariah said no because she would have been “shy and unpolished.” Nicki concurred, saying that she didn’t see the show fitting for rappers. “Rap and hip-hop is completely different from ‘American Idol,’” she explained. “So I would never go on this show as a rapper.”

The judges will participate in a Livestream session with fans on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. EST.

Mariah Carey hasn’t spoken out directly about her feud with Nicki Minaj…until now. Barbara Walters visited the pop diva at her New York apartment ahead of the January 16 premiere of “American Idol.” She opened up about her claims that the rap diva threatened violence against her, her whopping $18 million paycheck, and her family. According to Mariah, she and Nicki have settled their differences, at least for now.

“GMA” also aired some never-before-seen-footage of Mimi and Nick renewing their vows in Paris last year, as well as the couple at home with their twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

No one does Christmas like the Cannons. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated Christmas in the snow. The superstar couple and their adorable twins, Moroccan and Monroe, jetted to Aspen for their annual Christmas vacation. They shared photos from their picture-perfect holiday on Twitter and Instagram.

In the candid pics, Roc and Roe open their presents by the Christmas tree and go sledding in the snow. Roc even tried to pull his sister in a sled. “That boy strong!” wrote his proud pops.

After opening their gifts, the festive family got a visit from Santa Claus. “MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Carey-Cannons!! Pictures from our most festive Christmas yet,” said MC.
