New Music: M.I.A. – ‘Baddygirl (Flawless Remix)’

After teasing the song back in March, M.I.A. drops her Party Squad remix to Beyoncé’s ladies anthem “***Flawless” entitled “Baddygirl.”

“Beyonce camp has not replied for months > SO HERE >,” she tweeted.

Maya puts her own spin on Bey’s lyrics: “I woke up like this, I went to bed like this, we do everything just like this.”

M.I.A. and Janelle Monáe Team Up for Hologram Duet

Janelle Monáe and M.I.A.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg brought out a hologram of Tupac at Coachella in 2012, and M.I.A. and Janelle Monáe debuted their own holograms on Thursday as part of Audi’s A3 launch.

The British rapper and Wondaland singer performed solo concerts in different cities, teaming up at the end of their shows as life-sized 3D projections in what’s being called “the first hologram performance with integrated video mapping.”

Janelle rocked the stage at Quixote Studios in West Hollywood, while M.I.A. played to a packed crowd at New York’s SIR Stage 37.

During “Bad Girls,” a hologram Janelle spit a new verse alongside M.I.A., while Janelle performed “Q.U.E.E.N.” with a life-size hologram of M.I.A.

“The idea is that we teleport into each other’s show,” said M.I.A. “There’s a show and then it goes beyond the space where you’re performing and the city where you’re performing, so that’s what’s kind of interesting about it.”

Watch their hologram duet below.
