Miguel brought some late-night lovin’ to “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Tuesday. The smooth operator performed his hit single “Adorn” off his critically-acclaimed album Kaleidoscope Dream.
According to HITS Daily Double, the album will debut at No. 3 on this week’s Billboard 200 with 69,000 copies sold. Final numbers will be released on Wednesday morning.
He will hit the road with Trey Songz and Elle Varner on the “Chapter V World Tour” this November.
Three of R&B’s finest are joining forces this fall. Trey Songz has announced dates for his “Chapter V World Tour” with special guests Miguel and Elle Varner.
Miguel’s hit single “Adorn” has already received an official remix from Wiz Khalifa, and now it gets the Bad Boy treatment. Diddy and French Montana take it back to the ’90s by sampling Junior M.A.F.I.A. and Biggie’s “Get Money” on the DJ Tedsmooth remix. “This is the remix. I ain’t say that in a minute,” says the Bad Boy mogul before spitting a verse.
Ever wondered what a night with Miguel is like? The heartthrob’s video for “The Thrill” gives a good idea of the hard partying and fun (as well as hangover) you can expect.
The black-and-white clip documents Miguel and his friends celebrating at a birthday party for Miguel’s girlfriend, Nazanin Mandi. There’s dancing, scantily-clad girls, and plenty of drinking and smoking as the night gets increasingly woozy and eventually turns into a blur.
“This video is a wild montage of my favorite moments within a single day of celebration,” Miguel tells Rolling Stone. “Real memories created amongst real friends and real family.”
His critically-acclaimed sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream is expected to debut in the top 3 next week with over 50,000 copies sold.
Miguel puts his own stamp on R&B with his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream, available now. The L.A. crooner delivers 11 effortless tracks, with production from Salaam Remi, Jerry Wonda, and Pop & Oak, plus the No. 1 hit “Adorn” and follow-up “Do You…” Did Miguel’s seductive sound make noise with critics? Find out below.
Fast cars, the desert, and bedroom eyes. Miguel drops a sexy and romantic visual for his ballad “Do You…” from his brand new album Kaleidoscope Dream.
When he’s not seducing a lovely young lady, he’s traipsing through the desert in this music video. Interspersed with a performance scene, the crooner romances his real-life girlfriend Nazanin Mandi inside a vintage car and against a wall, among other places.
The singer spoke at length about his music, sexuality, and creative direction with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” today. “I’m just hoping to inspire non-lazy R&B music,” he said.
He explained his strategy behind releasing Kaleidoscope Dream in parts as a way to give fans music they could easily process. “We consume music in smaller doses; just being online, you’re discovering a new artist a song or two at a time. What I wanted to do was basically engage different types of music consumers. I just took the first three songs and put it out and the second three songs and put it out and the last three. And all together, it makes up this album… People don’t have to feel like they’re committing all their time at once.”
With his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream in stores today, Miguel stopped by Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” for a candid interview. Among other things, the “Adorn” singer opened up about his past creative missteps, rumors of his sexuality, beef with singer Lloyd, the pesky songwriting plagiarism accusations from Roscoe Dash, and the current state of R&B.
