Partygoers will have to wait a little longer. Missy Elliott is still in the studio cooking up her seventh studio album Block Party. The album had previously been scheduled for a September release, but Rap-Up.com has exclusively learned that Missy needs more time to record.

Atlantic Records in now eyeing a Thanksgiving release for the album, but a specific date has yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned.

Missy Elliott blows out the candles on her cake, which lists all her accolades, at her surprise 37th birthday party on Tuesday at Marquee in New York. Guests included Busta Rhymes, Cassie, Angie Martinez, and Laurie Ann Gibson.

All you Missy Elliott fans, the time has come. Here’s the brand new single from Missy called “Best, Best.” The track was produced by Danja. As we first reported, Missy’s new album is titled Block Party and will be released on September 9th.
