Album Cover: Nelly – ‘M.O.’

M.O.

Nelly stays fresh on the cover for his seventh album M.O. The St. Louis rapper rocks a camouflage and leather jacket as he stares down on the artwork.

The title is a play on his nickname and home state of Missouri. “It’s just Missouri. That’s where I’m from, Missouri, and a lot of friends and family call me Mo, so it’s similar as far as me still being where I am and being who I be,” he told TIME.

Due Sept. 30, M.O. features appearances from Nicki Minaj, T.I., Future, 2 Chainz, Nelly Furtado, Trey Songz, and Florida Georgia Line, with production from Pharrell, DJ Frank E, Detail, and Rico Love.

New Music: Nelly – ‘Feds Watching (Remix)’

Nelly

Nelly drops some fresh rhymes on his remix to 2 Chainz’ “Feds Watching.” Over the Pharrell production, the St. Louis MC addresses an incident that occurred last year where his tour bus was raided and heroin and a loaded gun were found.

“They tried to jam me up in Texas on some bullshit/ Said I had weed, boy, and a full clip/ No, not me mane, I’m only lifting weight/ I ain’t snitchin’ neither, but I tell ya who’s it ain’t/ From ’99 until now I made legit figures/ If this was ’97, they mighta had a ni**a,” he raps.

His album M.O. drops Sept. 30 featuring appearances from Nicki Minaj, T.I., Future, 2 Chainz, Nelly Furtado, Trey Songz, and Florida Georgia Line.

Nelly, Nicki Minaj, and Pharrell

Nelly keeps it slick and sexy in the black-and-white video for “Get Like Me.” The St. Louis rapper calls on Nicki Minaj and Pharrell for the Colin Tilley-directed clip. Fresh off the video for Busta Rhymes’ “#Twerkit,” Nicki kicks off her heels and pops her booty, while Nelly plays the butt bongos and pops wheelies.

“[Nicki] brings energy, charisma, and her star power, and I think that’s what the video is about,” said Nelly. “It’s just about that star power and energy and the hypeness of the joint.”

Pharrell added, “When we get together, we like to do a song that evokes as much energy as possible.”

Nelly Brings Out Kidnap Victim Amanda Berry at Cleveland Concert

Nelly and Amanda Berry

Nelly headlined RoverFest 2013 in Cleveland on Saturday, but it was a special guest that made the headlines. Kidnap victim Amanda Berry, one of three women held captive in a Cleveland home for a decade, made her first public appearance during the concert on Saturday.

Following an introduction from radio host Shane French, Nelly brought Berry and her family onstage while he performed “Just a Dream.”

“That’s how you tell the pulse of a city by the people that live there,” said the St. Louis rapper. “Since they up here right now, I want to make sure that we get a chance to thank you because I know it’s a long time and I can’t even imagine the type of strength and the type of courage that it took to keep it going.”

Wearing sunglasses, jeans, and a black T-shirt, Berry smiled and sang along during Nelly’s set.

Her appearance comes a day after her abductor pleaded guilty to kidnap and rape charges.

Watch the surprise serenade below.
