After a few false starts, N.E.R.D.’s fourth album Nothing has finally materialized. The 10-track offering features the summer sizzler “Hot-N-Fun” and Daft Punk-produced “Hypnotize U,” along with appearances by Nelly Furtado and T.I. Pharrell adds a feather to his cap on the cover of N.E.R.D.’s fourth album Nothing, now due November 2. Wearing a combat helmet with red, white, and blue feathers stuck in the side, Skateboard P touts his profile in the photo shot by Terry Richardson. The band’s rock-rap effort has spawned the Nelly Furtado-assisted single “Hot-N-Fun” and follow-up “Party People.”

N.E.R.D. brought their rock-rap hybrid tunes to New York City’s Times Square this afternoon to perform for a massive crowd in the heart of the Big Apple at Honda’s “CR-Z3dNYC” event. Pharrell and Shae held it down in the balmy streets, sweating to their latest hit “Hot-N-Fun” and flipping it back in time with a rendition of their debut single “Lapdance.” Concertgoers received 3-D glasses to view Honda’s CR-Z sport hybrid commercial on the big screen.

Ciara added some fuel to N.E.R.D.’s fire by joining them for a sizzling performance of “Hot-N-Fun.” The pre-taped piece aired during the VMAs as part of an ad spot for Chevrolet.

“I’ve known Pharrell for a while,” shared CiCi. “He’s such a cool person, but all of them together are so dope and so talented.”

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards are ready to take a ride. Ciara is set to join N.E.R.D. at the award show this Sunday following an announcement that the singer posted on Twitter. Though there’s no word on what the two acts will perform, it’s likely that they’ll give a rendition of “Hot-N-Fun,” with CiCi taking over for Nelly Furtado.

NYC’s Fashion Week got off to an early start on Tuesday night (Sept. 7) with a Fashion’s Night Out runway show outside of Lincoln Center. Supermodels including Naomi Campbell, Adriana Lima, and Gisele Bündchen walked to the sounds of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry blasting through the speakers, getting a dose of some live tuneage as N.E.R.D.’s Pharrell, Chad, and Shae performed their energetic single “Hot-N-Fun” from the edge of a fountain, commanding patrons to stand up and cut loose.
