Howard Stern phoned in to Nick’s 92.3 NOW radio show “Rollin’ with Nick Cannon” on Tuesday (Jan. 17). The shock jock is a judge on the new season of “America’s Got Talent,” which Cannon hosts. While the two have had their issues in the past (Stern has insulted Mariah on his SiriusXM show), they put aside their differences and remained cordial.

Roc and Roe’s father, who appeared with his wife at BET Honors over the weekend, explained why he was hospitalized. “They originally thought I had acute mountain sickness ’cause I was in Aspen,” said Cannon. “Then I did all these tests and they were like, it’s just kidney stones. Then they didn’t find any stones. Then they thought it was a kidney infection. Then it was a lot more serious. They found out that my kidneys weren’t functioning well.”

But after some time off, he’s feeling much better. “I got a couple more procedures I gotta go do, but I’m good, I’m back. I’m feeling 100 percent.”

The hard-working Cannon, who juggles many different roles, learned a valuable lesson from his health scare. “Because of this situation, I definitely know that I don’t need to go too hard.”

Cannon was hospitalized while on holiday vacation with his family in Aspen, Colorado, earlier this month. His wife Mariah Carey was by his side as he received treatment from doctors at a local hospital. Late last week, he was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

In a statement released to The Associated Press, Cannon’s rep said he’s “resting and recovering at home.”

But he’s not letting his condition slow him down. On Monday, Cannon appeared via satellite at a press conference for his new NCredible line of Monster headphones at CES.

He plans to return to his morning radio show, “Rollin’ with Nick Cannon,” on January 17.

In paparazzi photos, the 31-year-old entertainer is seen boarding a private jet from Aspen en route to L.A. with Mariah Carey. Nick appeared to be in good spirits as he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in a wheelchair, while his mother and wife greeted friends outside the hospital.

The host of America’s Got Talent updated his fans on his condition, thanking them for their support. “Currently being transfered to a hospital in LA. Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern. You know me… I will be a’ight,” he tweeted.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon introduced their precious twins to the world for the first time on ABC’s “20/20.” The happy couple, who celebrated their third anniversary last spring, sat down with Barbara Walters at their New York penthouse to discuss their marriage and becoming parents for the first time to now six-month-old Moroccan and Monroe aka Roc and Roe.

During the interview, the pop diva reflected on her tough pregnancy. “I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to walk properly again. It was a huge strain,” said Mariah, who had to take Progesterone to minimize the chance of another miscarriage. “I would sit and then someone would need to help me up. I couldn’t go even to the loo by myself.”

While his wife was going through labor, Nick played a live version of Mariah’s hit “Fantasy” in the delivery room. “They came into the world to a live version, and the only reason I wanted it to be the live version is ’cause I wanted them to hear the applause upon entering the world,” explained the new mom.

Nick hopes his children don’t pursue a career in showbiz, but they’re already showing musical inclinations. “I will say that they really respond to music,” said Mariah, while Nick insisted, “But I want to make sure that we get education first, that’s all.”

The couple has launched the website DemBabies.com, sharing candid photos of their bundles of joy. They decided to donate proceeds from the sale of the images to the Fresh Air Fund’s Camp Mariah.
