Sitting in her throne, the hip-hop queen performed “Right By My Side” for the first time on television, accompanied by her male dancers, before delving into her hit “Starships.” The video for “Right By My Side” is expected to premiere in the next week.
Nicki Minaj returned to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday, where she reunited with Sophia Grace and Rosie, the adorable British girls who covered her song “Super Bass” on YouTube. After Ellen teased her about her revealing outfit, a blonde Nicki spoke about being a role model, buying her friends Range Rovers, and disabling her Twitter account.
Since becoming a superstar, she has a hard time going unnoticed, especially when she drives through Malibu in her pink car. “People are willing to have an accident,” said Nicki, who will headline this weekend’s Wango Tango concert in L.A. “A girl literally cut through traffic and made a U-turn just to put her car in front of my car, so she could take a picture.”
The Pink Friday rapper also shared some advice for her young fans. “Pink is your color. Pink is gonna keep you happy for the rest of your life,” she told Sophia and Rosie. “Pink is gonna give you power, energy, and the girliness that you need. You wear your crown and you’re a queen.”

On the eve of their major label debut Hello, the quirky twosome sat down with Rap-Up TV (on a piano, no less) to discuss how they got into hip-hop, meeting Kanye West, taking inspiration from Nicki Minaj, and their embrace by the hip-hop community.
The engaged couple, who met at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, recalled their encounter with Kanye, who was interested in signing them to G.O.O.D. Music. “Meeting our idol Kanye was surreal,” said Amy, who calls My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy her favorite rap album. “We kinda talked about our songwriting and recording process and it turns out they’re very similar creatively.”
Another superstar they’ve met is Nicki Minaj, whose song “Super Bass” they covered on YouTube with The Roots’ ?uestlove. “I have a huge girl crush on her,” admitted Amy. “She’s one of the people who inspired me to jump into it and start rapping.”
One of the highlights of their career so far has been performing at the 2011 BET Awards. “Amy secretively wants to be a black person,” joked Nick, while his other half added, “Being embraced by the hip-hop community is just priceless.”

After opening a can of Pepsi, life resumes.
The spot, which is part of the soft drink maker’s “Live for Now” campaign, was shot earlier this year in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with Nicki’s hit single “Moment 4 Life” used as the soundtrack.
DJ Khaled is caught in the path of destruction in the Colin Tilley-directed video for “Take It to the Head,” the first single off his upcoming album Kiss the Ring. The Cash Money DJ filmed the big-budget visuals earlier this week in Los Angeles with his co-stars Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne. Nicki Minaj gets it poppin’ for Pepsi in her brand new commercial for the soft drink maker. In the first official image from the campaign, the platinum Barbie holds a can of Pepsi while posing as a space cadet.
The commercial entitled “Now in the Moment” features a newly remixed version of Minaj’s hit single “Moment 4 Life” and will debut Monday, May 7 as part of Pepsi’s “Live for Now” global campaign. She filmed the spot in Argentina earlier this year.
