Men in black Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Diddy, Red Café, and Rick Ross celebrated the life and legacy of the Notorious B.I.G. during a party at Brooklyn club the Lab on Monday (March 9), the 13th anniversary of the rapper’s death.

“We’re trying to make March 9 a national hip-hop holiday,” Diddy told MTV News. “March 9 is Biggie Day. … Bump Biggie all day, feel good and positive.”

Thirteen years ago hip-hop lost one of its greatest talents. On the anniversary of his death, we remember the legendary Notorious B.I.G. Check out some vintage footage of a 17-year-old Biggie during his early days rapping in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, to one of his now classic videos for “Hypnotize.”

Today marks the twelfth anniversary of the passing of the Notorious B.I.G., who was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles at the age of 24. We’ve posted one of our favorite classic Biggie joints, “Sky’s the Limit,” featuring 112 and directed by Spike Jonze. They don’t make videos like this anymore.

R.I.P. Big Poppa.
