Tyler, the Creator Debuts Second Mountain Dew Commercial

Felicia the Goat

Tyler, the Creator reprises his role as Felicia the Goat in his second commercial for Mountain Dew, which he directed. After speeding on the highway, Felicia gets pulled over by a police officer (“Loiter Squad’s” Lionel Boyce) for a “Dew-U-I.” The cop opens his trunk to find it filled with Mountain Dew. Felicia panics and flees the scene, screaming his signature catchphrase, “You’re never gonna catch me!”

Tyler, the Creator Performs on ‘Letterman’

Tyler, the Creator has graduated to the big leagues. After performing twice on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” the Odd Future frontman made his first appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Thursday. He brought his groupmates Earl Sweatshirt and Domo Genesis along with him to perform “Rusty” off his new album WOLF.

As Domo spit his verse, Tyler and Earl hilariously danced in the background. All three abruptly walking off stage at the end, but came back to take a selfie with Letterman.

Tyler described the strange experience. “I CURSED AT THE END AND THEY WERE SO FUCKING MAD I HOPE THEY PUT IT ON THERE AND JUST BLEEP IT OUT. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT AND I SAID SORRY,” he tweeted. “BUT IT WAS SO AWKWARD, FISH OUTTA WATER THING. I NEEDED THAT. LEGIT.”

WOLF is expected to sell 85-95,000 copies in its first week.

New Music: Tyler, the Creator – ‘Wolf’ [Album Stream]

Tyler, the Creator will unleash his third album Wolf on Tuesday. The Odd Future frontman kicks off Easter weekend by giving his fans an early listen to the 18 tracks, which feature Pharrell (“IFHY”), Erykah Badu (“Treehome95″), Frank Ocean (“Slater”), and the rest of the Odd Future gang.

Early reviews are starting to trickle in. Billboard writes, “Fair weathered Odd Future fans might find Wolf to be another notch in Tyler’s dysfunctional belt. However, with a closer listen, there is an obvious growth. This might be the last time Tyler attacks his issues on wax before spiraling off into another dimension a la Eminem.”

Video: Tyler, the Creator f/ Pharrell – ‘IFHY’

Tyler, the Creator gets burned by love in the self-directed video for “IFHY,” his collaboration with Pharrell off his new album Wolf, due April 2. The Odd Future leader plays a lovestruck doll, acting out scenes in a dollhouse with a plastic girlfriend. The real-life Tyler later drives through a neighborhood with his OF groupmate Hodgy Beats as his song “Jamba” blasts from the speakers.

He received praise from his mentor Pharrell. “This guy @fucktyler is talent ungoverned…feral…creates with his self appointed license..sick music, lyrics and directs his videos,” tweeted The Neptunes producer.

In addition to Pharrell, Wolf includes collaborations with Frank Ocean, Erykah Badu, and more of his Odd Future crew.

Tracklisting: Tyler, the Creator – ‘Wolf’

Tyler, the Creator gathers some of his favorite people for his third solo album Wolf. The Odd Future leader shares the 18 tracks with his OFWGKTA gang including Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, Hodgy Beats, Jasper, Taco, Left Brain, Domo Genesis, and more.

Due April 2, the follow-up to his 2011 album Goblin also features superstars Erykah Badu, Dave Matthews, and his idol, Pharrell.

Tyler is currently on a headlining tour across the U.S., which wraps April 11 in Portland, Oregon.

Tyler, the Creator Stars as Nasty Goat in Mountain Dew Commercial

Tyler, the Creator is letting his imagination run wild in a new commercial for Mountain Dew. The Odd Future frontman voices a “nasty goat” named Felicia (also his Instagram name) in the TV spot, which he directed. When a waitress offers Felicia an ice cold Dew, he turns her down before attacking her and taking the soft drink. He chases her out of the restaurant as she screams.

“MOUNTAIN DEW GAVE ME A CHANCE TO JUST HAVE FUN BEHIND THE CAMERA. THANKS,” tweeted Tyler.

The hilarious ad will begin airing on television this week and marks the first in a series of commercials starring Felicia the Goat and Errol Chatham.

Earl Sweatshirt Makes SXSW Debut

All eyes were on Earl Sweatshirt, who made his SXSW debut during several showcases in Austin, Texas, over the past week. Following in the footsteps of his fellow Odd Future members, who invaded the stage in 2011, the much-buzzed-about rapper staged a solo set at The FADER FORT on Saturday.

Wearing a yellow T-shirt that said “Knowledge Reigns,” the 19-year-old was joined by DJ Flying Lotus as he performed material off his upcoming album Doris including his Tyler, the Creator-produced single “Whoa.”
