T.I. and Pharrell

T.I. recently linked up with Pharrell to shoot the video for their collaboration “Here Ye, Hear Ye.” The dapper rappers posed in front of a white backdrop, with the fashion-forward Sk8brd rocking a captain’s hat, red motorcycle jacket, and Timbs in one scene and a fur-trimmed jacket in another. Tip also stepped up his fashion game, looking fresh in a V-neck sweater and scarf.

Tip, whose VH1 show “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle” premieres December 5, described his joint record with P as “some hip-hop rap shit.” “We’re just going in for four minutes rapping,” he told Rolling Stone of the cut, which is expected to appear on his upcoming album.

Pharrell, Jim Jonsin, and Usher

Usher is cooking up some fire for his next album. The music superstar hit the studio with today’s top hitmakers including Pharrell, Jim Jonsin, Rico Love, and Diplo to lay down some new tracks for his seventh LP, due in 2012.

“Right now we’re just experimenting with different sounds,” said Rico, who penned “There Goes My Baby” off 2010’s Raymond v. Raymond. “My job is to make sure it stays classic. I don’t feel like Usher is just a Top 40 artist or just an R&B artist or just a rhythmic artist. I gotta make records that connect to all formats.”

One insider who heard the new material tells Rap-Up.com, “It’s the most ridiculous music I’ve ever heard Jim and Rico make. Amazing!”

“Listening to your vocals, man, I’m impressed,” said The Neptunes hitmaker while kicking it in the studio with the pop star and Usher. “It’s amazing. I didn’t know that his voice had matured this much. Those runs are really, really clean. A couple times I [got chills].”

Skateboard P co-signed the album, which features collaborations with Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Boyz II Men, and Usher himself. “Ya’ll gotta get this Christmas album. I’m definitely stamping it,” remarked P.

Usher added, “The world is bugging right now ’cause your voice is incredible.”

Bieber is working with Kanye West and Drake on his next studio album Believe, which is due in early 2012. “I feel like this Christmas album is like the iPhone 4S,” said Biebs. “Everyone was waiting for the 5, but we just put out the 4S to give them something real quick.”

New Music: T.I. f/ Pharrell – ‘Here Ye, Hear Ye’

Here Ye, Hear Ye

Here ye, hear ye. T.I. is coming back with a vengeance on his new collaboration with Pharrell. The hip-hop stars go bar for bar on the lyrical street record produced by The Neptunes hitmaker. Tip said he and P have more collabos on the way and revealed the two potential titles for his next album.

“The first of two album titles I’m debating is Kill the King because in all that I’ve gone through I’ve observed how people respond to my circumstances, and I always wonder ‘Why y’all coming at me like this?’ But I thought, ‘How do you expect them to act?’” he told Rolling Stone. “Life is a game of chess and the object is to kill the king. If you anoint yourself king, you have made yourself a target. The second one is self-explanatory—Trouble.”

Rihanna, Pharrell Guest Judge on ‘X Factor’ [Video]

Rihanna

Rihanna and Pharrell lent their expertise to the contestants on last night’s “X Factor.” RiRi joined former Def Jam executive L.A. Reid at his Hamptons home as she judged the boys, including 14-year-old Brian “Astro” Bradley, who she likened to a “mini J. Cole,” and Phillip Lomax, who charmed her with his cover of “Don’t Stop the Music.”

“I’m definitely looking for individuality, star potential. Just have fun, knock it out the park, and good luck,” the pop superstar told the aspiring artists, who hope to score the $5 million recording contract prize.

Meanwhile, Pharrell was over at Paula Abdul’s house mentoring the groups. The N.E.R.D. frontman watched a country cover of “Born This Way” and acoustic version of “Only Girl (In the World)” performed by two brothers.

Nicole Scherzinger called on her friend Enrique Iglesias to critique the over-30 contestants, while Simon Cowell’s guest judge Mariah Carey was a no show because her flight was grounded due to Hurricane Irene.
