R. Kelly’s promotional plans have been sidelined after he suffered a medical scare. The R&B superstar was on his way to New York to promote his new album Write Me Back and memoir SoulaCoaster when he fell ill.
R. Kelly buys out the bar and rocks out on “All Rounds on Me.” The Pied Piper channels Elvis Presley on the swinging rock ‘n’ roll record, which features a call-and-response hook. “I’m back with my baby, everything gon’ be all right,” sings a celebratory Kellz. You can find this and more retro-inspired songs on his new album Write Me Back, available Tuesday.
R. Kelly pens the feel-good follow-up to 2010’s Love Letter with Write Me Back. The album, which will be available in a 12-track standard and 16-track deluxe edition, features the “stepping” singles “Share My Love” and “Feelin’ Single,” plus more retro-inspired records for the R&B lovers. Kellz channels Elvis Presley on “All Rounds on Me” and evokes Smokey Robinson on “Fool for You.” Listen to 30-second snippets before it arrives on June 26.
Just in time for the weekend, R. Kelly hits the town in search of love on his Michael Jackson-inspired single “Feelin’ Single” off his upcoming album Write Me Back. After getting the cold shoulder from his ex, the Pied Piper decides to beat her at her own game and find himself a new girl. If you’re single and ready to mingle, this one’s for you.
After catering to the ladies with his smooth jam “Share My Love,” R. Kelly hits the strip club with Ace Hood and DJ Khaled in the video for “It’s On” off his upcoming Black Panties album. Prior to releasing the “new 12 Play,” Kellz will drop Write Me Back, the sequel to 2010’s Love Letter.
Monica and Brandy reunited for the first time in 14 years on “It All Belongs to Me,” and they have R. Kelly to thank. Before the Rico Love-produced duet found its way into their hands and onto Monica’s album New Life, it originally belonged to the Pied Piper.
“At the time, the record belonged to R. Kelly and I thank Robert from the bottom of my heart because I had to really go to him and ask him, ‘Can I take this song?’” Monica exclusively tells Rap-Up TV. “And he gave it to me. He said, ‘I’ll let you take it.’”
The R&B songstress has always wanted to work with Kellz, whose inspirational song “I Wish” helped her get through a difficult time in her life. “R. Kelly is one of the greatest that ever did it, especially when it comes to lyrics and knowing how to make a song that makes sense to the everyday person because I’m just like them.”
Monica’s label RCA had the idea of putting Brandy on the record and turning it into a empowering anthem for women.
R. Kelly pulls back the velvet rope on his brand new video for “Share My Love,” the first single off his upcoming album Write Me Back, the sequel to 2010’s Love Letter. The gracious host puts on his finest clothes and invites some lady friends over for an intimate gathering, feeding them chocolate-covered strawberries and boogieing all night.
“We don’t like the new videos. We just like to have fun and turn the camera on while we do it,” said Kellz. “We not gonna call this a video, we calling this a real party. Everybody here is VIP.”
