New Mixtape: Ray J – ‘Unkut 2’

Unkut 2

Ray J is back and uncensored on his latest mixtape Unkut 2. Presented by Young California, the 18-track sequel to his 2007 tape features appearances from Too $hort, Snow Tha Product, and E-40, with shout outs from Lil Wayne, Common, and Rick Ross.

It also includes the autobiographical song “Never Shoulda Did That,” on which he apologizes for his past mistakes.

“For me the song is about recognizing where I am in my life now and thinking about some of the things I’ve done that I have come to regret,” said Ray J. “This song is my way of moving forward.”

Earlier this month, he shot a video for his Migos-assisted single “ATM,” which does not appear on the mixtape.

Rap-Up TV: Ray J and Migos Cash Out in ‘ATM’ Video

Ray J took over the club on a Tuesday afternoon while shooting a video for his new single “ATM” featuring Migos. Rap-Up TV was on the scene as the VH1 reality star packed Sound Nightclub in Hollywood with some sexy ladies.

“The girl is saying she got her legs open like an ATM. Boom!” Ray J said of the raunchy club banger.

In the provocative clip, the head of his all-female security team ends up falling for him. “Hopefully her legs are open like an ATM by the end of the video and I can cash in and cash out,” he said.

He was also joined on set by the “Versace” trio. “We’re big fans of their music and they’ve been exploding on their own path and they’ve just built a crazy fan base,” said Ray J. “The homies told me to get with ‘em and they was down, so it was just magic.”

Migos returned the love, adding, “It was pleasure to lock in with my boy Ray J. He’s been doing this entertainment for a minute. We makin’ history.”

The song will appear on Ray J’s upcoming EP Ray J Unkut 2, which will also feature a ratchet record called “Never Should’ve Did That.”

He hopes to get back in the studio with his sister Brandy. “She called me and said she wanted to work on this project with me, so she’s flying in Friday,” he said. “God is good. Please God bless me to get back in with my sister and really get focused.”

Ray J Brings Out Kim Kardashian Look-alike on ’106 & Park’

Luba and Ray J

Ray J enlisted a Kim Kardashian look-alike for his controversial video for “I Hit It First.” During his appearance on “106 & Park” on Wednesday, the R&B singer brought his leading lady Luba with him.

The audience chanted, “Bring her out! Bring her out!” before she walked on set.

Bow Wow gave the model a hug, but when he went to ask Ray J about her striking similarity to his ex, Ray cut him off.

He wouldn’t say Kim’s name when asked who the song is about. “The song is about something I did. I try not to go so hard with the record ’cause it’s self-explanatory,” said Ray J. “There’s other relationships that I’ve been in too, just not as popular as others that I’ve dealt with.”

He insists that the single is not indicative of the rest of his album. “There’s records coming with a whole lotta more substance. We havin’ fun with this. It’s summertime, let’s live, let’s have fun.”

Ray J and Kim Kardashian

Ray J pays homage to his romantic past in the video for his much-talked-about single “I Hit It First” featuring Bobby Brackins. He boasts about his sexual escapades with Kanye West’s baby mama as he drives through L.A. in his Rolls-Royce and boards a private jet with the fake Kim K. by his side.

Ray J has defended the song, which has received some backlash. “I think people digging into it too deep. It’s a song, we just having fun. That’s it,” he told “The Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show.”
