New Music: Rita Ora – ‘I Will Never Let You Down’

Rita Ora

Rita Ora reigns on. After conquering the U.K. with her 2012 debut Ora, the British bombshell comes back strong with “I Will Never Let You Down,” the first single off her sophomore album. Produced by her boyfriend Calvin Harris (“We Found Love”), the feel-good tune is bound to dominate radio and karaoke bars this summer.

“When you say you’ve had enough and you might just give it up / Oh, oh, I will never let you down,” sings Rita over the synth-heavy beat.

“I think this is the perfect song to launch my new album because I want it to be as personal and honest as possible and I’m happy right now,” said Rita. “I’m in a very good place. I really wanted people to just see how I felt and how I want other people to feel when they listen to my music, happy.”

The 23-year-old singer has collaborated with Macklemore (“Young Dreamers”) and Prince on her forthcoming album.

Behind the Video: Rita Ora – ‘I Will Never Let You Down’

I Will Never Let You Down

Rita Ora is back and ready to share her happiness with the world. The 23-year-old singer has unveiled the red-hot cover art for “I Will Never Let You Down,” the first single off her upcoming sophomore album.

Earlier this month, the blonde bombshell shot the video with director Francesco Carrozzini (Beyoncé’s “Jealous”) in L.A. The fashionista was all smiles as she went in front of the lens, modeling a green python dress, ruffly red top, and Chanel earrings and gloves. In one scene, she electrified in pink as she walked through red paint in her sneakers.

The uplifting love song, produced by her boyfriend Calvin Harris, reflects her current mood.

“I think this is the perfect song to launch my new album because I want it to be as personal and honest as possible and I’m happy right now,” said Rita. “I’m in a very good place. I really wanted people to just see how I felt and how I want other people to feel when they listen to my music, happy.”

Watch Rita spread some sunshine on set.

Rap-Up TV: Meek Mill Enlists Rita Ora, Timbaland for Sophomore Album

The Maybach Music crew is gearing up for a big year ahead with new albums from Rick Ross, Wale, and Meek Mill, who plans to drop his sophomore LP this spring. While attending the launch of “REVOLT Live” in Hollywood, the Philly MC revealed that he has recorded over 80 songs and collaborated with the likes of DJ Khaled and Rita Ora, who appears on a song called “I’ma Ride.”

“It’s fire. Just know I’m spittin’ on it,” Meek exclusively told Rap-Up TV. “[Rita's] singin’. She’s sounding very good on it. Hopefully the people love it when it drops.”

Timbaland has also lent his production skills. “That’s the OG,” said Meek. “Me and Timbaland always kickin’ it for the last year or two, so I seen him one day, I was playin’ some music for him and Hov, and he was like, he wanna go in and make some magic. I was all the way with that.”

So what can fans expect from the follow-up to his 2012 debut Dreams and Nightmares? “You can expect just quality music,” explained Meek, who still hasn’t decided on a title. “You know me, I’m a street rapper. I come with that street shit, so I’m just comin’ with that on another level right now and takin’ them to a different place.”

During his recent trip to Miami, he met up in the studio with Justin Bieber. “I seen him the day before he got locked up. We just was chillin’,” said Meek, who shared his support for the Biebs following his arrest.

“He’s a kid. Kids gon’ be kids. Everybody’s not perfect.”
