Rye Rye teams up with DJ Sega to bring you her first mixtape RYEotpowRR, the predecessor to her studio debut Go! Pop! Bang! M.I.A.’s 19-year-old protégée remixes some of today’s biggest pop hits including Ke$ha’s “We R Who We R,” Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.,” Ciara’s “Gimmie Dat,” and Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair” for over an hour of non-stop dance music. New Music Premiere: Rye Rye f/ Ciara – ‘Gimmie Dat (Remix)’

Rap-Up.com exclusive! Rye Rye demands a piece of that on the first offering from her upcoming mixtape RYEot PowRR. M.I.A.’s protégée remixes Ciara’s “Gimmie Dat,” reconfiguring the booming track into an even more club-friendly banger, complete with frenetic rhythms and spoken-word breakdowns.

“Work it out like pow pow/ I’ma get it like CiCi/ Shakin’ all my goodies/ I’ma break it down now/ Can you give me that sound now?/ I’ma put on my crown now,” chants the 20-year-old Baltimore MC, who also shot a viral video for her DJ Sega-produced remix.

Rye Rye is busting a move in the viral video for her remix to Ciara’s “Gimmie Dat.” “On the set of my Ciara ‘Gimme dat’ video… but remixed Rye Rye style!!!” tweeted M.I.A.’s 19-year-old protégée, whose debut album Go! Pop! Bang! is due this year. It will be preceded by her mixtape RYEot powRR on January 22.

M.I.A. and Rye Rye Hug It Out

Following her show at Terminal 5 in New York City, M.I.A. showed love to her 19-year-old protégée Rye Rye at an after-party at Greenhouse. The Baltimore MC performed material from her debut album Go! Pop! Bang!, due in January on N.E.E.T. Recordings/Interscope. The lead single, “Sunshine,” features her motherly mentor, and the disc may include collaborations with Pharrell, Tyga, Blaqstarr, Arabian Prince, Egyptian Lover, and Diplo.

“She’s very involved, like most of the decisions get made by her as well,” Rye Rye told Rap-Up TV of working with Maya. “If I do a track, M.I.A. has to be comfortable with it as well because I’m her artist.”
