Sade has tapped John Legend as the opener for the North American leg of the band’s summer tour, with the R&B crooner joining the group on all U.S. dates.

Legend, who is nominated for five awards at this Sunday’s Grammys, will hit the road with Sade beginning June 16 at Baltimore’s 1st Mariner Arena. During the summer trek, the two acts will pay visits to Chicago’s United Center, Los Angeles’ Staples Center, and Boston’s TD Garden, wrapping their stateside jaunt on August 30 at Anaheim’s Honda Center.

Sade will embark on its first European tour in 17 years on April 29 in Nice, France, making the rounds to Italy, Germany, and England. Check below to see when they’ll bring their soothing sounds to a city near you.

Coasting on the success of their platinum-selling album Soldier of Love released this past February, U.K. outfit Sade is shaping up to have a busy 2011. The band, led by singer Sade Adu, will hit the road for its first global tour in over a decade, kicking off the 50-city North American leg on June 16 at Baltimore’s 1st Mariner Arena.

The 51-year-old mother of one cooks, cleans, and drives a truck full of sweets in the vibrant and refreshing Sophie Muller-directed clip, which features a cameo from her own daughter Ila Adu.

Sade performed something old and something new on Tuesday’s “Dancing with the Stars.” The band took it back to 1985 with “The Sweetest Taboo” and put the audience up on their new single “Babyfather,” for which Sade was once again joined by her daughter Ila Adu.

Earlier in the day, Mary J. Blige invited Oprah’s cameras to the Yonkers projects where she grew up and toured her learning center for abused women. She also rocked out with her cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven.”

Sade returned to the U.S. to perform her new single “Babyfather” on Monday’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” The British songstress’ teenage daughter, Ila Adu, accompanied her mother on background vocals. She can also be heard on the studio version, along with bandmate Stuart Matthewman’s son Clay.
