New Music: Sevyn Streeter – ‘Call Me Crazy, But…’ EP

Call Me Crazy, But...

Christmas comes early for Sevyn Streeter fans. The R&B singer-songwriter’s debut EP is now available to stream in full via VH1.com.

After penning hits for everyone from Ariana Grande to Tamar Braxton, the 27-year-old Florida native serves up seven sultry tracks including the Chris Brown-assisted single “It Won’t Stop.”

“It’s basically just talking about the cycle of a relationship: the ups, the downs, the good, the bad, and the ugly,” she told Power 98.

Take a listen to Sevyn’s EP before it arrives on December 3. Plus, watch the video teaser for “Sex on the Ceiling.”

Somebody call a doctor. Sevyn Streeter is losing her mind over love in the video for “Call Me Crazy.” Following the snippet for “nEXt,” the 27-year-old singer-songwriter seeks professional help in the one-minute clip.

An emotional Sevyn sits in the doctor’s office, while a psychologist (played by Sevyn) tests her mental health with a Rorschach test.

The song is now available on iTunes, while her full EP Call Me Crazy, But… arrives Dec. 3.

She plans to release mini music videos for all seven tracks off the EP.

Sevyn Streeter Covers Toni Braxton’s ‘You Mean the World to Me’

Sevyn Streeter has covered Aaliyah and Keyshia Cole. Now the CBE songstress takes on Toni Braxton’s 1994 hit “You Mean the World to Me.” While sitting in a stairwell, Sevyn channels her emotions as she belts out the R&B ballad.

After meeting Braxton at the Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas, Sevyn decided to pay tribute to the Grammy-winning diva, who she grew up idolizing.

Sevyn is currently opening for her Atlantic Records labelmate K. Michelle on the “Rebellious Soul” tour.

On Dec. 3, she will release her EP Call Me Crazy, But… featuring the Chris Brown-assisted single “It Won’t Stop.”

K. Michelle Kicks Off ‘Rebellious Soul’ Tour with Sevyn Streeter

K. Michelle’s “Rebellious Soul” tour ripped through the West Coast this week. Following the kickoff show in San Francisco, the BET Music Matters trek played to a full house at L.A.’s House of Blues on Tuesday.

CBE singer-songwriter Sevyn Streeter hit the stage first, performing her Chris Brown-assisted single “It Won’t Stop” as well as covers of Aaliyah’s “Come Over” and Keyshia Cole’s “I Should’ve Cheated.”

After an introduction from former “106 & Park” hosts Terrence and Rocsi, K. Michelle brought down the house with her powerful pipes while performing her Rebellious Soul anthems. Her fans sang along to every word as she belted out “Can’t Raise a Man” and closed with her hit “V.S.O.P.”

Tiara Thomas will join the tour when it makes its way to Dallas on Nov. 11.

Sevyn Streeter falls in and out of love in the video for “nEXt.” The R&B songstress cozies up to her love interest, played by Mack Wilds, but their relationship soon takes a turn for the worse. She is seen cutting up Polaroid pictures of them as she sits on her bed.

“I know we miserable apart but together it’s so hard,” says Sevyn. “All I need to know is how can my ex-boyfriend be my next boyfriend?”

She plans to release mini music videos for all seven tracks off her upcoming EP Call Me Crazy, But…, which arrives Dec. 3.

Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monáe, Eve, & Sevyn Streeter Perform at ‘Black Girls Rock!’

BET celebrated beautiful, powerful, and talented women during its annual “Black Girls Rock!” special, which aired on Sunday night. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, the star-studded evening featured musical tributes from R&B’s leading ladies including Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Hudson, and Janelle Monáe.

Janelle kicked things off with a high-energy performance of “Electric Lady” followed by Jennifer Hudson, who performed her new single “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” for the first time.

Following an introduction from her fellow Destiny’s Child diva Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland teamed up with Eve and Sevyn Streeter for a remix to her Talk a Good Game single “Gone.” She danced her way into the venue as Eve rapped from the balcony and Sevyn dueted with her on the ladies’ anthem.

Mariah Carey honored her godmother Patti LaBelle with the Living Legend Award, while Jennifer Hudson bestowed praise on Queen Latifah while presenting her with the Rock Star Award.
