Drake and The Weeknd Reunite in the Studio

Drake and The Weeknd

Drake and The Weeknd are putting their differences aside and making music together again. The Canadian superstars hit the studio in Toronto last night. Drizzy tweeted a photo of them together, writing, “@abelxo SCARY TINGS,” plus a pic of their studio session.

The Kiss Land crooner didn’t sign to Drake’s label, fueling speculation that the two had a falling out. But The Weeknd has denied the rumors.

“No, that’s not true. Definitely not true,” he told Complex. “But it makes sense. The thing about Drake is I told him what my decisions were going to be. And he was down with it from the beginning.”

Drake was supportive of his “Crew Love” collaborator. “He went on to do something that he felt was a great decision. More power to him,” he previously told Elliott Wilson on EVR Radio. “I talk to him all the time and I look forward to whatever he has coming in the future. I wouldn’t call it a parting of ways. I just think people reach a point where they need to make decisions.”

Earlier in the evening, Drake stopped by to support his fellow Canadian Justin Bieber at his show at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. He joined Biebs and Riff Raff in a pre-show prayer circle. Check out video of them backstage.

Album Cover: The Weeknd – ‘Kiss Land’

Kiss Land

The Weeknd has always maintained mystery, but he decides to show his face on the dark cover of his upcoming album Kiss Land. The Canadian singer poses in front of a window with the city lights behind him.

Although he’s released several mixtapes and the Trilogy compilation last year, he considers this his first album.

It represents his fear. “When I think about Kiss Land, I think about a terrifying place. It’s a place I’ve never been to before that I’m very unfamiliar with,” he told Complex.

Kiss Land is due September 10 featuring the title track and “Belong to the World.”

He will kick off a headlining tour on September 6 in Vancouver.

New Music: Kavinsky f/ The Weeknd – ‘Odd Look (Remix)’

Odd Look (Remix)

After premiering the video for his single “Belong to the World” earlier in the week, The Weeknd lends his talents to French house musician Kavinsky on the remix to “Odd Look.” The Canadian crooner takes us to ecstasy as he adds some sultriness to the electro beat.

His new song “Love in the Sky” is scheduled to hit iTunes on July 30 followed by his sophomore album Kiss Land later this summer.

Upon the album’s release, he will hit the road on “The Fall” tour beginning September 6 in Vancouver.

Video: Juicy J f/ The Weeknd – ‘One of Those Nights’

Juicy J

Tragedy strikes in the trippy video for Juicy J’s “One of Those Nights” featuring The Weeknd. It’s an ordinary night at Boomers when an armed robber enters the bar. He demands the money from the cash register and threatens to shoot an intoxicated Weeknd, who sits in a booth with a bunch of women, while Juicy J rolls blunts in the back. By the end, one man is left dead.

The Memphis rapper’s debut Stay Trippy is due this summer on Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records/Columbia featuring Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, and Big Sean.
