Drake, Big Sean, & The Weeknd Celebrate Kylie Jenner’s Sweet 16

Drake, Scott Disick, Tyga, and Big Sean

Hip-hop’s biggest stars came out to celebrate with Kylie Jenner as she turned 16. Kim Kardashian’s little sis threw an Alice in Wonderland-themed bash at AT&T Center in downtown L.A. on Saturday night. The star-studded guest list included Drake, Big Sean, The Weeknd, Naya Rivera, Tyga, Scott Disick, and Willow and Jaden Smith.

Kanye wasn’t able to make it because he was in Oklahoma City attending his grandfather’s funeral. But he organized a surprise from Drake and Big Sean, who performed “All Me,” while Drizzy planted a kiss on the birthday girl’s cheek.

“Thank you Drake AKA @champagnepapi @bigsean for the surprise performances!! #loveyoukanye,” wrote Kylie’s mother Kris Jenner.

The whole family got together on Sunday and celebrated at a private dinner. One of Kylie’s friends sang “Hold On, We’re Going Home” at the dining table as Drake and Kanye looked on.

New Music: Lorde – ‘Royals (The Weeknd Remix)’

Royals (The Weeknd Remix)

The Weeknd reigns over the remix to 16-year-old New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde’s single “Royals.” The Canadian singer, who previously co-produced a remix to Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night,” lends his lush production skills to the opulent record. But he keeps his vocal contributions to a minimum, adding some falsetto to the background.

His album Kiss Land arrives Sept. 10, while Lorde’s EP The Love Club is available now on iTunes.

New Music: The Weeknd – ‘Love in the Sky’

Love In the Sky

Before he takes us to Kiss Land on September 10, The Weeknd offers another taste of what to expect with “Love in the Sky.” The Canadian crooner soars to new heights over a lush instrumental.

“But I’m always gettin’ high ’cause my confidence low/ And I’m always in a rush/ Ain’t no time to fuck slow,” he coos.

The album represents his fear. “When I think about Kiss Land, I think about a terrifying place,” he told Complex. “It’s a place I’ve never been to before that I’m very unfamiliar with.”

He will embark on a North American tour beginning September 6 in Vancouver.

UPDATE: The Weeknd has released a visual to accompany the song. Check it out below.

Drake and The Weeknd Reunite in the Studio

Drake and The Weeknd

Drake and The Weeknd are putting their differences aside and making music together again. The Canadian superstars hit the studio in Toronto last night. Drizzy tweeted a photo of them together, writing, “@abelxo SCARY TINGS,” plus a pic of their studio session.

The Kiss Land crooner didn’t sign to Drake’s label, fueling speculation that the two had a falling out. But The Weeknd has denied the rumors.

“No, that’s not true. Definitely not true,” he told Complex. “But it makes sense. The thing about Drake is I told him what my decisions were going to be. And he was down with it from the beginning.”

Drake was supportive of his “Crew Love” collaborator. “He went on to do something that he felt was a great decision. More power to him,” he previously told Elliott Wilson on EVR Radio. “I talk to him all the time and I look forward to whatever he has coming in the future. I wouldn’t call it a parting of ways. I just think people reach a point where they need to make decisions.”

Earlier in the evening, Drake stopped by to support his fellow Canadian Justin Bieber at his show at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. He joined Biebs and Riff Raff in a pre-show prayer circle. Check out video of them backstage.

Kiss Land

The Weeknd has always maintained mystery, but he decides to show his face on the dark cover of his upcoming album Kiss Land. The Canadian singer poses in front of a window with the city lights behind him.

Although he’s released several mixtapes and the Trilogy compilation last year, he considers this his first album.

It represents his fear. “When I think about Kiss Land, I think about a terrifying place. It’s a place I’ve never been to before that I’m very unfamiliar with,” he told Complex.

Kiss Land is due September 10 featuring the title track and “Belong to the World.”

He will kick off a headlining tour on September 6 in Vancouver.
