Missy Elliott and Timbaland Debut New Songs in New York

Missy Elliott hasn’t set foot on the stage in a minute, but she resurfaced last night at a celebration for Hennessy’s Wild Rabbit campaign at Highline Stages in New York. Following an introduction from Erykah Badu, Timbaland got the crowd hype with his hits before bringing out Missy, who sported a bedazzled Jeremy Scott adidas track jacket.

The partners-in-rhyme, who both have new albums dropping this year, debuted new material including “Triple Threat” and “9th Inning,” which samples lyrics from Run-DMC’s “Here We Go (Live at the Funhouse),” accompanied by hip-hop dance duo Les Twins.

“Imma make u dance u dance Imma TRIPLE THREAT! Love u timbo! Feels like old times! 90,s” tweeted Missy.

Timbaland Previews New Missy Elliott Song at SXSW

If seeing Missy Elliott in J. Cole’s video for “Nobody’s Perfect” wasn’t enough to get you excited for her comeback, Timbaland drums up more anticipation for Misdemeanor’s long-awaited return by previewing some new music.

During his set at the Breeding Ground showcase at SXSW in Austin, Timbo teased with a snippet of a new song from his partner-in-rhyme.

“Me and Timbaland the new Ike and Tina,” raps Missy on the club banger, which may be from her upcoming album, tentatively titled Block Party. Both artists are planning to release their projects simultaneously this summer.

“@Timbaland time to finish mixing these joints so we can world premier these movies! *jumpsbackinmyspacecraft* I’m out!” Missy recently tweeted.

New Music: Timbaland f/ Dev – ‘Break Ya Back’

It’s starting to feel like the good ol’ days again. After Missy Elliott’s return to the spotlight in J. Cole’s video for “Nobody’s Perfect,” Timbaland makes his comeback on his bass-heavy single “Break Ya Back” featuring Dev, which premiered today on Norfolk’s Z104.

The song will reportedly appear on Shock Value III. Timbo previously announced that he and Missy would both release albums in June. “It’s about to be a movement,” he tweeted.

Lil Wayne gave Justin Bieber some skating tips when he caught up with him in Miami. With skateboard in hand, the teen sensation hit the ramp with the Young Money chief in between recording his upcoming album Believe.

“Good time in the studio last night,” tweeted the Biebs. “Back at it tonight. oh yeah…and big bro came thru.”

While he didn’t say if he and Weezy had collaborated, Timbaland has been in the studio with the pop idol. “yo @justinbieber played me some of his joints last nite, craziee. the dude is super talented & our work ethics are just alike. #hitsondeck,” tweeted Timbo.

Drake and Kanye West are also among the contributors to Bieber’s sophomore album, due later this year.

Rick Ross is not playing around. Fresh off the release of his star-studded mixtape Rich Forever, the Teflon Don turned his attention back to his fifth album God Forgives, I Don’t.

Over the weekend, the Miami MC hit the lab with super-producer Timbaland, who provided him with some of his signature beats. “In studio w/ Timbaland.get’n priceless music x advice,” tweeted Rozay.

Timbo is not the only music maestro connecting with the Bawse. He also received a call from Jay-Z and his idol Dr. Dre following the release of his tape. “Just spoke to my biggest musical influence for the 1st time,” wrote Rozay. “Dr. Dre just changed my life with a phone call.”
