TLC is bringing some crazy, sexy, cool to television. The ’90s R&B trio will be the subject of a scripted music-focused biopic for VH1.

The dramatic story behind Chilli, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes will be the first in a made-for-TV movie series for VH1 featuring musicians and pop culture icons.

The group’s two surviving members, Chilli and T-Boz, have signed on as consultants and executive producers, while screenwriter Kate Lanier (Beauty Shop) will pen the biopic.

“With the tremendous success of our scripted series ‘Single Ladies,’ we now know that viewers will come to VH1 for quality scripted projects. We’re eager to expand on that success with this bio-pic franchise that will allow us to explore our music, pop culture, and authentic storytelling strengths in yet another format,” said Jeff Olde, EVP Original Programming & Production for VH1. “We’re honored to collaborate with Chilli, Tionne, and Bill Diggins in sharing their own personal story and TLC’s record-breaking legacy with VH1 viewers.”

The show will explore the trio’s rise to fame with their 1991 debut Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip and 1994’s groundbreaking album CrazySexyCool, which sold more than 22 million albums worldwide and made them one of the most successful female groups of all time.

Fans will also relive sadder moments from the trio’s storied career including Tionne’s battle with sickle-cell anemia, the ladies’ financial woes, Lisa burning down her boyfriend’s home, and her untimely death in 2002.

Karmin tackles TLC’s “No Scrubs” for their latest YouTube cover. With an autographed photo of Sean Paul on the wall behind them, Amy and Nick sat down at the keyboard to flip the ’90s classic.

“Since our 1st single has a throwback sample, we did a throwback cover!!” tweeted the duo, who is prepping their debut album for release on Epic Records.

They even gave their genre of music the name “swag pop.” “It’s a combination of pop and rap mixed together,” they explained.

Taylor Swift pulled into Philadelphia last night for the latest stop on her “Speak Now” tour, surprising fans with another cover song. The country crooner performed an acoustic version of TLC’s 1999 hit “Unpretty,” which was released when she was just 10 years old. In addition, she took on hometown hero Pink’s “Who Knew” while strumming the guitar.

During previous shows, the 21-year-old singer has covered Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and Pras, Mya, and ODB’s hip-hop classic “Ghetto Supastar,” calling it her “seventh grade anthem.”

The two surviving members of TLC returned to the stage to perform a medley of their greatest hits on the “American Idol” season finale. Lil Jon got the party started with “Come Get Some” before T-Boz and Chilli came out to sing and dance along to “No Scrubs” and “Waterfalls” with four of the female contestants.

“American Idol” is getting a boost of star power for its season finale. Beyoncé, TLC, Lady Gaga, and Jennifer Lopez are among the artists reportedly set to appear on tonight’s big show.

Beyoncé will hit the “Idol” stage, dueting with the top 13 girls in a live musical number, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Her fellow diva Lady Gaga will perform her Born This Way single “The Edge of Glory,” while there are reports that judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will pair up for Aerosmith’s classic “Dream On.”

The surviving members of TLC, T-Boz and Chilli, are also rumored to perform at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre, but it is unknown what their involvement will entail.

Other names being thrown around are U2’s Bono and The Edge, Lil Jon, Tony Bennett (with top 3 contestant Haley Reinhart), and actor-musician Jack Black alongside Casey Abrams. Finalist Lauren Alaina will join previous “Idol” champ Carrie Underwood, while Scotty McCreery croons with country superstar Tim McGraw.

As the centerpiece of this anti-deadbeat anthem, Left Eye’s verse added intelligent, crafty lines about a well-worn topic and kept it fresh. Whereas Chilli and T-Boz kept their venom confined to an R&B coo, their rapping counterpart called out all the fake playas with witty wordplay and combative vocabulary—guaranteed to put a scrub in his place.

TLC scored a massive hit with their optimistic anthem “Waterfalls,” which featured a sunny verse from Left Eye. On her relaxed rap, Left Eye parts the clouds by subsuming herself in hope and praising the power of faith, encouraging listeners to see past the gray by believing in yourself.

While Left Eye was known to kick a powerful verse about self-love and confidence, she also knew how to lay back and chill with the ladies. Her addition to Lil’ Kim’s female anthem “Not Tonight (Remix)” from the Nothing to Lose soundtrack showed that she enjoyed the club life, from “booty shakin’” to “club hoppin’.”

“Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg” – TLC

As far back as 1991, Left Eye was stealing the spotlight with her emphatic raps. On “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” she cemented her status as one of the earliest female MCs to rhyme about her sexuality and wanting a man to satisfy her bedroom needs.

“U Know What’s Up (Remix)” – Donell Jones feat. Left Eye

Left Eye earned one of her highest-charting hits with a guest verse on the remix to Donell Jones’ 1999 smash “U Know What’s Up.” Her dizzying rhymes played smoothly against Jones’ vocals, adding a feminine touch to the boy-girl jam.

Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas left her handprint on Planet Hollywood in New York City’s Times Square earlier today, cementing her hands into a mold. The TLC member kept it low-key in a dressed-down ensemble, rocking jeans tucked into black stiletto boots and a zip-up jacket. Kandi Burruss recalls writing one of the biggest hits of the ’90s, TLC’s “No Scrubs.” The “Real Housewife of Atlanta,” whose new album Kandi Koated drops December 14, reveals how the Grammy-winning song changed her life. “That was one of the best decisions I think I ever made,” she tells Rap-Up TV of giving the song to T-Boz, Chilli, and Left Eye. “That song has made history and it really opened the doorway for my songwriting career.”

The Atlanta singer-songwriter recently ran into T-Boz, who is working on a special project and asked Kandi to rap along with a bunch of other “female boss chicks.” The door is open for future collabos.

Another big record that came later that year was Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills.” “At first, I think they were kinda iffy on me coming to the session when I first got there, but I ended up hitting it off really well with the girls,” says Kandi of recording with the original foursome, Beyoncé, Kelly, LeToya, and LaTavia.
