TLC Honored for ‘Outstanding Contribution’ at MOBO Awards

TLC received a royal welcome at Saturday’s MOBO Awards in the U.K. The surviving members of the R&B trio, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, were on hand to accept the award for “Outstanding Contribution” and introduced British girl group Stooshe, who performed their classic “Waterfalls.” The late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was also represented by her brother and sister.

“It’s been so many years since we’ve been here and to come back after all these years and receive so much love, it’s just outstanding and it just makes us feel really happy and even more excited to create new music,” Chilli told Link Up TV on the red carpet.

The ladies have been working on a new album, tour, and made-for-TV movie series for VH1. T-Boz is also set to star in a reality show for TLC next year.

T-Boz to Star in New Reality Show on TLC

TLC member Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins is getting her own reality series. Incidentally, the show titled “Totally T-Boz” will air on TLC. Sources tell TMZ that the network has ordered four episodes for 2013. Currently filming in the singer’s home in Atlanta, the show will follow T-Boz as she relaunches her music career while juggling single motherhood and her recent health ailments.

TLC is reuniting on the 10-year anniversary of Left Eye’s death. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas plan to bring back their third member for the group’s first tour in nearly a decade.

Karmin Covers TLC’s ‘No Scrubs’ [Video]

Karmin tackles TLC’s “No Scrubs” for their latest YouTube cover. With an autographed photo of Sean Paul on the wall behind them, Amy and Nick sat down at the keyboard to flip the ’90s classic.

“Since our 1st single has a throwback sample, we did a throwback cover!!” tweeted the duo, who is prepping their debut album for release on Epic Records.

They even gave their genre of music the name “swag pop.” “It’s a combination of pop and rap mixed together,” they explained.

Taylor Swift Covers TLC, Eminem, & Mya [Video]

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift pulled into Philadelphia last night for the latest stop on her “Speak Now” tour, surprising fans with another cover song. The country crooner performed an acoustic version of TLC’s 1999 hit “Unpretty,” which was released when she was just 10 years old. In addition, she took on hometown hero Pink’s “Who Knew” while strumming the guitar.

During previous shows, the 21-year-old singer has covered Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and Pras, Mya, and ODB’s hip-hop classic “Ghetto Supastar,” calling it her “seventh grade anthem.”

TLC Performs ‘No Scrubs’ and ‘Waterfalls’ on ‘American Idol’ [Video]

The two surviving members of TLC returned to the stage to perform a medley of their greatest hits on the “American Idol” season finale. Lil Jon got the party started with “Come Get Some” before T-Boz and Chilli came out to sing and dance along to “No Scrubs” and “Waterfalls” with four of the female contestants.
