Game, Swizz Beatz, and Mix Master Mike rocked out with Travis Barker on last night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The hip-hop stars joined the Blink-182 drummer to perform “Can a Drummer Get Some,” the first single from his forthcoming album Give the Drummer Some (March 15), with Swizzy jumping into the crowd to unleash his inner rock star. Travis Barker, the drumming machine who’s spent the past few years adding his own touch to remixes for Jay-Z, Game, and Rihanna, is stepping into the solo realm with his debut album Give the Drummer Some, featuring guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Swizz Beatz, Raekwon, and more. Barker enlisted Chicago duo The Cool Kids to drop some knowledge on the album’s first single “Jump Down,” produced by Chuck Inglish, with a 3-D video treatment on the way.

Rihanna Shoots ‘Rockstar 101’ Video, Rehearses with Travis Barker

Rihanna bands together with rocker Travis Barker in the video for “Rockstar 101,” the fourth single from her Rated R album, shot in Los Angeles over the weekend. The Blink-182 drummer was also on set of the rehearsals for her “Last Girl on Earth” tour and was impressed with the pop star’s drumming skills, as evidenced by the video below.

“She’s awesome,” he said. “I haven’t seen anyone catch on that quick in quite a while and have that kind of ear for drums or rhythm, so I was stoked that she could really play the drums.”

While Barker was happy to lend a hand, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx declined an invitation to appear in RiRi’s video. “Rihanna just asked me to be in her video for ‘Rockstar,’” he tweeted. “I respectfully said no. What do you guys think?”

Could they be working on a rock remix of her No. 1 hit “Rude Boy”? The two previously collaborated on an “Umbrella” remix.
