In honor of the 40th anniversary of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Elton John is set to reissue his seventh album. Due March 25, the two-disc deluxe edition includes remastered versions of Elton’s classics and covers from today’s popular artists including Ed Sheeran, Emeli SandĂ©, Fall Out Boy, Hunter Hayes, and Miguel.

The R&B crooner pays tribute to the pop icon on a remake of his ’70s chart-topper “Bennie and the Jets” featuring his “Lotus Flower Bomb” collaborator Wale.

New Music: Wale – ‘King Slayer’


Ahead of the show’s April 6 premiere, HBO has enlisted 10 rappers for its Game of Thrones-inspired mixtape, Catch the Throne. The free hip-hop and reggaeton compilation will be available for download on March 7 featuring Common, Daddy Yankee, Big Boi, Magazeen, and Wale, who contributes the theme song “King Slayer.”

Over an epic beat, the D.C. rapper murders the competition with his razor-sharp rhymes.

He is also in the studio working on The Album About Nothing, due later this summer.

After putting his spin on Lorde’s “Royals,” the D.C. rhymer hops on the remix to Troy Ave’s “Show Me Love,” which he released via his new blog Every Blue Moon. Magazeen kicks things off with his dancehall flow before Wale unleashes an intense verse.

In an interview with Rap-Up TV, he revealed that his next project, The Album About Nothing, will arrive later this summer.

Rap-Up TV: Wale Talks New Album, Mariah Carey Collaboration

Wale has a new attitude for the new year. After taking a break from social media and confronting his critics, the MMG rapper has turned the focus back on his music and fans, which he outlined in a letter on his blog. During the launch of “REVOLT Live,” Rap-Up TV asked him about his new outlook.

“That’s where my energy’s going, back into the fans and back into the music. I’m not worrying about the small things anymore,” he said.

He was recently in the studio with Mariah Carey, but wouldn’t reveal too much. “That’s top secret for now,” he said, adding that the collaboration is for the pop diva’s upcoming album.

He is also working on his fourth LP The Album About Nothing, which he plans to drop at the end of summer.

“It’s pretty good, but you’re never done until you’re done,” he said.

New Music: Lorde f/ Wale & Rick Ross – ‘Royals (Remix)’

With The Album About Nothing on the way, Wale returns to social media with the launch of his new Tumblr page EveryBlueMoon.com. One of the first things he posted was a remix to New Zealand songstress Lorde’s No. 1 hit “Royals.”

The remix features a previously released verse from Rick Ross. Wale switches things up with an entirely new beat and Magazeen adds his dancehall flow.

The D.C. rapper has also penned a letter to his fans, in which he addresses his absence from social media, his haters, and his issues with certain media outlets.

Going forward, he promises to focus less on the critics and more on his fans. “I may never be the biggest rapper in the world (still one of the best doe), but I’ll be the most dedicated to my fans and it starts with this right here,” he wrote. “This is rare. This is REAL. This is about us. This is about the music again. My ReRE -Dedication to greatness.”
