Wiz Khalifa Shares His Inspiration in ‘Blacc Hollywood’ Trailer

Wiz Khalifa

The countdown is on to Blacc Hollywood. With over two weeks to go, Wiz Khalifa presents the trailer for his third major label album. The Taylor Gang leader speaks about his inspiration as he performs for fans all over the world and FacesTimes with his son Sebastian.

“It’s a look into the ’80s and the more punk era, and the stuff that inspired what people pay shit loads of money for now,” explains Wiz as he cuts up a T-shirt.

“A lot of the music that I’m inspired by is kids who are doing it on their own and low quality videos. You take me, who’s like a huge superstar to a lot of people, and I dumb it down and I minimize everything. I lower my quality, but the thought process and the art is still there.”

Blacc Hollywood arrives August 19 featuring Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign, Curren$y, and more.

The hip-hop trio step into the action-packed world of Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael in Michael Bay’s movie.

“[Paramount] heard about how big of a fan I was of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their whole legacy,” said Wiz. “I actually have Donatello tattooed on my leg, so when they asked me to do it, just being a fan and being a musician, it made sense. In my generation, I think everyone who listens to me loves the Turtles as much as I do, so it just made sense.”

The reboot of the animated TV series, starring Megan Fox and Johnny Knoxville, opens in theaters on August 8.
