Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj Win Big at AMAs

Justin Bieber was the big winner at the 40th anniversary American Music Awards on Sunday. Not only did the teen idol share the stage with Nicki Minaj, he also went home with three awards including Artist of the Year. He brought up his mother and thanked Usher during his acceptance speech.

His “Beauty and a Beat” collaborator Nicki scored two trophies including Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album for Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

She dedicated the awards to her Barbz. “I love you so much, you are so passionate and so inspiring,” said a grateful Nicki. “Thank you so much for voting your little tiny fingers off. I could just eat you and kiss you and love you and hug you.”

Other winners included Beyoncé (Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist), Rihanna (Favorite Soul/R&B Album), and Usher (Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist). See the full list of winners below.

MC Hammer Performs with PSY at AMAs

“Gangnam Style” met “2 Legit 2 Quit” at the AMAs. Korean sensation PSY closed the star-studded show with a performance of his smash single, but the big surprise was when he brought out MC Hammer for a medley of their dance hits. The pair performed some synchronized choreography as celebrities danced in their seats. Oppan Gangnam style!

Following an introduction from Brandy, Swizz Beatz turned the American Music Awards into an all-out dance party during his exhilarating set at Sunday’s show. As women bum-rushed the stage, Swizzy performed his dance-floor anthem “Everyday Birthday” in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the AMAs.

Chris Brown worked up a sweat as he showed off his fancy footwork, stripping shirtless before dancing in the aisles. Fresh from Europe where he was shooting Fast and Furious 4, a dapper Ludacris also joined the festivities.

You can always count on Pitbull to get the party started. Mr. Worldwide heat up the AMA stage with his feel-good single “Don’t Stop the Party” at Sunday’s show, bringing out Christina Aguilera for a quick performance of their collaboration “Feel This Moment” off his new album Global Warming. Prior to his set, Xtina delivered her own medley of Lotus cuts including the title track, “Army of Me,” and “Let There Be Love.”

Following her performance of “Freedom,” Nicki Minaj made a quick wardrobe change and joined Justin Bieber on stage at the American Music Awards. The teen superstar kicked things off with an acoustic rendition of “As Long As You Love Me” before jumping into his current single “Beauty and a Beat.”

Sporting a curly black wig and bustier, the Young Money MC burst out of a speaker box to spit her verse, even rapping the “Keep an eye out for Selener” lyrics despite the Biebs’ recent breakup with Selena Gomez.
