Trey Songz celebrated his BET Awards ‘08 nomination for Best Male R&B Artist with a rooftop party at the Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Monday. Guests included Pretty Ricky, Gorilla Zoe, Atlantic Records exec Kevin Liles, and actor Jackie Long.

Trey is currently in the studio working on his next album, slated to drop in December.

Jermaine Dupri and Island Def Jam celebrated the launch of TAG Records with a red carpet affair at KRESS in Hollywood on Monday. Guests included Nas, Kelis, Nelly, Macy Gray, Chrisette Michele, Slim Thug, J. Holiday, Carmit Bachar, and Dondria. DJ Cassidy provided the music.

BET announced the nominees for the BET Awards 2008 on Thursday. T-Pain leads with 5 nominations. Kanye West and Keyshia Cole received three nominations, while Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, and Flo Rida received two each.

Mariah Carey, Usher, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, and Nelly are scheduled to perform on the show in Los Angeles on June 24th. The rest of the nominees will be announced today by Usher and Nelly on BET’s “106 & Park.”
