There were lots of stars and slime at the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday. Hosted by Mark Wahlberg, the 27th annual event brought out Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, and LL Cool J, who helped honor kids’ favorites in film, music, sports, and television at the Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles.
Ariana Grande matched her orange Aiisha Ramadan dress to the orange carpet, toting a Chanel purse adorned with stickers of Nickelodeon cartoon characters including “The Rugrats” and “Aaahh!!! Real Monsters.” The “Sam & Cat” star also picked up the orange blimp for Favorite TV Actress.
Pharrell sported some gear from his new adidas collection as he arrived with his wife Helen Lasichanh. He made a cameo in the opening performance of “Happy” and later changed into a yellow “SpongeBob SquarePants” onesie before being doused with green slime.
It was also a family affair for Christina Milian, who brought her daughter Violet, and LL Cool J, who was joined by his daughter Nina.
Aloe Blacc entertained the young crowd with a medley of his Lift Your Spirit hits “Wake Me Up” and “The Man.”
Others winners included Justin Timberlake for Favorite Male Singer and Selena Gomez for Favorite Female Singer.
