Beyoncé Goes Behind the Scenes of VMA Performance

Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, and Jay Z

It takes a village. A day after celebrating her 33rd birthday, Beyoncé shares some behind-the-scenes footage from her epic MTV Video Music Awards performance. From the choreography to the stage design, we get a first-hand look at all the hard work and team effort that went into putting together the 15-minute medley.

During rehearsals, Bey expresses her frustration about not getting to run through the performance enough times and demands that her dancers paint their bodies white. Shortly before hitting the stage, we see her holding hands with her crew and leading them in a prayer circle.

“God, we imagined being little kids dreaming of this night and we are here,” she says.

After killing her performance and accepting the Video Vanguard Award, she goes backstage and toasts with Jay Z and her team, but it’s Blue Ivy who gives her the best feedback. “Everybody say good job,” says her two-year-old daughter.

Ariana Grande and Big Sean Show PDA at VMAs

Ariana Grande and Big Sean

Ariana Grande and Big Sean are going public with their relationship.

The unsuspecting couple was spotted holding hands backstage at Sunday’s VMAs following her win for Best Pop Video for “Problem.” The singer and rapper were all smiles as they made their way down the hall at L.A.’s Forum.

Before taking their relationship to the next level, the longtime friends collaborated on Ariana’s 2013 single “Right There” and “Best Mistake” off her latest album My Everything.

“Ariana Grande is somebody I’ve known for a minute now,” Sean told Rap-Up TV last year. “We were just homies, just cool. We’re from two different worlds. I’m like a rapper from Detroit and she’s from Florida.”

Sean called off his engagement to “Glee” star Naya Rivera in April and Ariana recently split with Jai Brooks of The Janoskians.

Iggy Azalea Congratulates Nicki Minaj Backstage at VMAs

Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj

Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj ran into each other backstage at Sunday’s VMAs, and it was all love. While doing an interview with MTV News, Nicki was greeted by Iggy, who congratulated her on her opening performance.

“You did great, don’t worry it,” she told the Young Money rapper, referring to her wardrobe malfunction during “Bang Bang.”

“Thank you, honey,” responded Nicki.

While she sparked controversy with her BET Awards acceptance speech, Nicki has publicly congratulated her fellow femcee on the success of “Fancy.” “One thing I’m not is a hater. If somebody is doing something and they did it well, and their song is charting well, then congratulations,” she said in May.

Nicki opened the VMAs with “Anaconda,” but she opted not to use snakes after one of her dancers was bitten during rehearsals. But the girl is doing well, and joined her onstage during the performance.

“She handled it like a trooper. She went to the doctor. She’s fine,” said Nicki.
