Pitbull and Ne-Yo Perform at VMAs [Video]

Pitbull, Ne-Yo, and Afrojack turned the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards into a bumping club with their performance of “Give Me Everything” off Pit’s latest album Planet Pit. The team hit the stage with a gang of backup dancers, giving a tightly-stitched rendition of their hit as a web of green lasers shot out behind them. Pit, dressed in a white suit jacket and light red pants, joined a fedora-clad Ne-Yo to sing the tune, while Nayer added a female touch to the banger.

Jay-Z and Kanye West Perform ‘Otis’ at VMAs [Video]

Jay-Z and Kanye West showed their patriotic stripes with a surprise performance of “Otis” off their chart-topping album Watch the Throne. ‘Ye, dressed in a matching denim shirt and pants, emerged with newly announced father-to-be Hov, who rocked a white tee and dark blue jeans. Throughout their soulful performance, the duo let the music do the talking as they emerged amid a myriad of fireworks, coming closer to the audience as an American flag unfurled behind them.

Lady Gaga Opens the 2011 VMAs [Video]

Jo Calderone took Lady Gaga’s shine to open the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The eccentric pop star, dressed as her male alter-ego, suited up as her trash-talking counterpart to perform her new single “You and I,” addressing the crowd that included a befuddled Justin Bieber and Adele.

“What’s with the hair? At first it was sexy but I’m just confused. She said I’m just like the last one. I’m not like the last one!” said Jo of Gaga. “How am I supposed to shine? I think I’d be OK with this if I felt like she was really being herself with me.”

He exacted revenge by singing the country-tinged tune, joining backup dancers to hit her cues and gracing the piano. To cap her role-playing performance, she popped a beer and accompanied a big-haired electric guitarist.

Beyoncé’s baby bump and Nicki Minaj’s wild style made for one crazy photo opp at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. A glowing B posed with the rap diva on the black carpet at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (Aug. 28). Meanwhile, Wiz Khalifa made out with Amber Rose, Kreayshawn got animated with a Disney-inspired getup, a bespectacled Justin Bieber showed off his pet snake “Johnson,” and house artist Jessie J was stuntin’ in her Swarovski-covered crutches. “Price Tag” singer Jessie J arrived fresh from the U.K. to practice for her role as the evening’s house artist. She may be confined to a chair after injuring her foot, but still promises to “wild out” on stage. She will rock a Swarovski-studded boot during the big show and perform her new U.S. single “Domino” for the first time.
