Rap-Up TV caught up with Ashanti on the red carpet at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party to discuss the release date for her new album, who she’s working with this time around, the video for “The Way That I Love You,” and future collaborations with Nelly.

Rap-Up TV: Ashanti at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Party 2008

Entertainment Weekly toasted L.A. Reid at STK LA in West Hollywood Sunday night. Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West, Usher, Amerie, The-Dream, Nas, and Kelis were all there to celebrate with the Island Def Jam chairman.

Universal Music Group celebrated the Grammys with its after party at The Palms Restaurant in Los Angeles. Ashanti, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé, Solange, Akon, Jay-Z, and Nicole Scherzinger were some of the celebs who showed up.

Sony BMG held its Grammy after party at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Guests included Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Michelle Williams, John Legend, Brandy, Chamillionaire, Chris Brown, T-Pain, Lil’ Mama, and Kelis.

Amy Winehouse and Kanye West were the big winners at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night. Winehouse won five awards including Record of the Year while Kanye took home four. Alicia Keys picked up two Grammys and Rihanna scored her first award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Jay-Z.

Favorite performance of the night: A tie between Kanye West and Beyoncé and Tina Turner. Kanye’s glow in the dark performance of “Stronger” combined with his heartfelt tribute to his mother was a highlight. Beyoncé proves she is one of the greatest performers of our time.

Best dressed: We gotta give it to Beyoncé although there was no clear winner.

Favorite moment: Amy Winehouse’s surprised reaction upon winning Record of the Year.

Biggest disappointment: Kanye West’s loss to Herbie Hancock for Album of the Year. Kanye was robbed yet again of the top trophy. At least he could have lost to Amy Winehouse.

The 50th Annual Grammy Awards featured performances from Beyoncé and Tina Turner, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, Rihanna, Fergie, and John Legend, among others. Kanye West did “Stronger” with Daft Punk and performed “Hey Mama” in a touching tribute to his mother, the late Donda West.
