Video: Rihanna Talks Lady Gaga, Alexander McQueen at Met Gala

Rihanna, rocking a black lace Stella McCartney gown, spoke with “E! News” at Monday’s Met Gala. She explained how her custom-made creation came together and her favorite memory of the late designer Alexander McQueen.

“Lady Gaga at the VMAs, that was definitely a big night for Alexander McQueen in pop music and I love that she pulled out vintage pieces instead of the new, more contemporary stuff,” said the funky fashionista.

Met Costume Institute Gala 2011

Beyoncé and Jay-Z made a grand entrance at the Costume Institute’s “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 2). All eyes were on hip-hop’s royal couple as they posed for photos together, Jay in a black-and-white tux and his wife in an ornate black-and-gold Emilio Pucci fishtail gown.

The fashion and entertainment worlds collided at the star-studded event, which was dedicated to the late designer Alexander McQueen and featured a performance from Florence + the Machine.

Rihanna turned heads in a revealing black Stella McCartney creation with long red braid, Alicia Keys was the belle of the ball in a Givenchy gown, Kanye West sported a tux from Tory Burch’s new menswear line, Ciara strutted in a Prabal Gurung show stopper, Jennifer Hudson was a fairy tale princess in Vera Wang, and Jennifer Lopez and Mary J. Blige were gorgeous in Gucci.

After co-hosting the Met Costume Institute Gala on Monday (May 3), Oprah Winfrey let loose for some “Hot-N-Fun” with Pharrell, Diddy, and Usher at the after-party at New York City’s Mark Hotel.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour asked N.E.R.D. to perform at the exclusive event, where the in-style crowd sweat through their designer suits and gowns while dancing to the band’s rap-rock hits.

DJ Cassidy worked the ones and twos, as a wild Katy Perry provided further entertainment with her light-up dress. Now that’s a party!
