On New Year’s Day, Drizzy performed at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, giving fans a preview of his upcoming “Club Paradise” tour, which kicks off February 14 in Miami. Lady Gaga shared a special moment with her hometown while welcoming 2012 in New York City’s Times Square. Emerging from a glittery black blob, the eccentric superstar performed a medley of her Born This Way tracks including “Heavy Metal Lover,” “Marry the Night,” and “Born This Way” during “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

“To say that I love this city is an understatement. This is my hometown and my dream,” said an overjoyed Gaga while overlooking the thousands of revelers.

After changing into a white gown, a masked Gaga helped Mayor Bloomberg count down to the ball drop, dancing into the new year to Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.”

While his YMCMB sister Nicki Minaj was on ABC, Drake was bidding adieu to 2011 on “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.” Perched high above Times Square, Drizzy had New York City rocking to his Take Care hits including “Make Me Proud,” “The Motto,” and “Headlines,” sharing the surreal experience with host Carson Daly.

“It’s absolutely incredible. I’ve never really experienced anything like it,” said the Canadian rapper, who kept warm in his $5,000 OVO x Canada Goose jacket. “All these wonderful people and fans and music is in the air. It’s a new year, I’m excited for 2012.”

During the interview, Drake confirmed that he’s already plotting his third album. “Me and 40 have been hard at work just trying to figure out where to take the next one,” he revealed.
