Chris Brown Appears in Court for Progress Hearing

Chris Brown

Chris Brown was back in an L.A. courtroom on Thursday for a progress report hearing in the Rihanna assault case. According to TMZ, his community labor was increased to four days a week, so he can finish his required hours by January.

A somber-looking Chris joined his lawyer Mark Geragos as he faced the judge, who also mentioned that he violated his probation by getting a speeding ticket.

With his new schedule (community service typically lasts eight hours a day), he won’t have much time to rehearse for his upcoming tour with Trey Songz.

The R&B superstars are scheduled to hit the road with Tyga in the months ahead. Breezy will also open the Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas on November 7 and perform with Trigga at Power 106′s Cali Christmas on December 5.

Earlier in the week, he joined Karrueche, Kanye West, and Big Sean at Teyana Taylor’s album listening party in L.A.

French Montana Hits the Gym and Flaunts Fit Physique

French Montana

French Montana is getting fit. Following his breakup with Khloe Kardashian, the Coke Boy rapper hit the gym and went to work. A shirtless French showed off the results of his intense workout to his 2 million Instagram followers.

He turned his flab into a six pack thanks to the CrossFit training program, which has also helped Rick Ross lose over 100 pounds.

But don’t panic, he’s just getting started. “Back at it #turbogrind #dontplayyourself #haaaa #crossfit,” tweeted French.

He is gearing up to release his sophomore album Mac & Cheese in December. He recently shot a video for his new single “Gucci Mane” with Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, and joined Jeremih on set of the “Don’t Tell ‘Em (Remix)” video.

Fergie Rides with YG in ‘L.A.LOVE’ Video

YG and Fergie

From Hacienda Heights to Hollywood, Fergie took over the streets of L.A. while shooting a video for her DJ Mustard-produced single “L.A.LOVE (la la)” over the weekend. The Black Eyed Peas frontwoman loaded up her tricked-out double-decker “love bus” with friends and rode through her ‘hood.

She paid homage to her L.A. roots with lowriders, cholas, and Compton’s own YG, who is featured on the remix. Sevyn Streeter, Kelly Osbourne, and Cypress Hill’s Sen Dog tagged along for the ride, while Fatima Robinson (“Fergalicious”) directed the clip.

“Hanging with my boy, @YG on the #LALOVE set. #MLKblvd,” tweeted Fergie.

She is working with Mike WiLL Made-It, Rae Sremmurd, and will.i.am on her first solo album in eight years.

“I am a student. I study the evolution of music, from Kendrick to Mustard, L.A. had an explosion. I needed to be a part of it,” Fergie told Power 106.

DMX, Foxy Brown, Ja Rule, & Ashanti Perform at Def Jam 30 Concert

Ashanti, Big Sean, Ja Rule, and Aisha Atkins

Def Jam celebrated 30 years of hip-hop with a star-studded concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Thursday night. The label’s past and present icons—from EPMD to Big Sean—united under one roof to perform some of their greatest hits.

Accompanied by Swizz Beatz, DMX tore up the stage with “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Where the Hood At,” and “Party (Up in Here).”

Ja Rule, who will star in MTV’s docu-series “Follow the Rules,” took it back with his Murder Inc. classics and brought out Irv Gotti and his former labelmate Ashanti for “Mesmerize” and “Always On Time.” The R&B princess stuck around to sing “Happy” and her debut single “Foolish.”

“This next record put me in the Guinness Book of World Records,” said Ashanti before performing the Biggie-sampled song, which spent 10 weeks at No. 1 in 2002.

Draped in a gold fur-lined jacket, a slimmer Rick Ross bumrushed the stage with French Montana and some twerking fans for “Pop That” and brought out Stalley for “One More Shot.”

Foxy Brown repped for her hometown with her classics “B.K. Anthem,” “Ain’t No Ni**a,” and “Get Me Home.”

Surprise guest Big Sean had the crowd singing along to his new anthem “I Don’t F**k With You,” Fabolous did his remix to “Hot Ni**a,” and 2 Chainz delivered a swagged-out set.
