1st Annual BET Honors: Red Carpet

BET held their inaugural BET Honors in Washington, D.C. over the weekend. Honorees included Alicia Keys, Tyra Banks, Time Warner board chairman Richard D. Parsons, and Princeton professor Cornel West. Performers included John Legend, Wyclef Jean and Niia, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder.

According to USA Today, Michael Jackson was a scheduled guest/honoree, but he pulled out of the event. Ne-Yo was left performing for Jackson without his idol being in the audience.

Grand Opening of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Vegas Club

Jay-Z celebrated the grand opening of his 40/40 Club at The Palazzo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas with a star-studded event that included everyone from Beyoncé and Mary J.
