Soul Food

There’s no place like home. Just in time for the holidays, Big K.R.I.T. serves up some “Soul Food” with the third release from his sophomore album Cadillactica. In the Alex Nazari-directed clip featuring Raphael Saadiq, the Mississippi MC reflects on family and friends and good times that seem to be long forgotten in today’s society.

“I feel like now more than ever, we need to remember those times, where it was nothing but our family and friends, and soul food,” he says.

Gather round the table and partake in some Southern hospitality.

Video: Jhené Aiko – ‘Wading’

Wading

Following the release of her debut album in September, Jhené Aiko caps off her successful year with her sexiest video yet for “Wading,” the latest single off Souled Out.

The R&B siren plays a temptress in a seedy underground nightclub in the dark and mysterious clip. At the end, a fight breaks out as one of the men tries to protect Jhené, and busts out some impressive martial arts moves before the SWAT team raids the place.

Jhené was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best R&B Song (“The Worst”) at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

She is currently on her “Enter the Void Tour” with SZA, The Internet, and Willow Smith, which wraps December 21 in Minneapolis.

Sam has also released a cover of the holiday classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” which he premiered during “A Very Grammy Christmas” special earlier this month.

Her Young Money brothers Drake and Lil Wayne marvel at her assets, while her “Love More” collaborator Chris Brown makes a creepy cameo, complete with colored contacts and a grill.

Due December 15, The Pinkprint also features Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Jessie Ware, Meek Mill, and more.

J. Cole Performs ‘Be Free’ on ‘Letterman’

J. Cole

With 2014 Forest Hills Drive in stores, J. Cole paid a visit to “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Wednesday. But instead of performing a song off his new album, he paid tribute to Mike Brown and Eric Garner with “Be Free,” a song that he released in August. Clad in all black, Cole closed his eyes as he delivered the emotional lyrics, and debuted some new bars.

“Forget this chain ’cause this ain’t me / Though I’m eternally grateful to Jay Z,” he raps.

2014 Forest Hills Drive is expected to sell 320-350k in its first week, but Cole brushed off the projections.

“Album in stores now. 2014 Forest Hills Drive. No thank you on projections. Just did Letterman, I’ll never forget it. Thank you God,” he tweeted.

Watch his powerful performance below.
