Nicole Scherzinger

After launching her new single “Run” in the U.S., Nicole Scherzinger hit the ground running. The former Pussycat Doll kicked off her promo with a visit to “Access Hollywood Live,” where she performed the raw and vulnerable ballad for the first time.

Nicole will release her album Big Fat Lie in the U.K. on October 20 and is planning an early 2015 U.S. release. She worked mainly with Tricky Stewart and The-Dream on the “R&B-pop” record.

“It’s very soulful and it’s very personal to me,” said Nicole of the follow-up to her 2011 debut Killer Love. “I’ve learned so much and grown so much the past several years. I finally am confident enough in my skin to talk about things that us women don’t talk about.”

The former Pussycat Doll will also star in the West End production of Cats this December.

Alicia Keys Performs ‘We Are Here’ on ‘The View’

Alicia Keys on The View

A glowing Alicia Keys stopped by “The View” on Monday to promote her new single “We Are Here” and We Are Here Movement. During her chat with Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Rosie Perez, and Nicolle Wallace, the singer revealed that her second baby is due December 31.

“Being a mother has definitely given me more of a fierceness and understanding,” said Alicia.

Over the weekend, she brought out Israeli and Palestinian musicians to perform “We Are Here” at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park. “My generation, we want peace and we want to be able to move forward and [forgive],” she said.

Her peaceful anthem was inspired by recent events including Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, and the Middle East conflict. “It’s a movement of the people so that we can gather our voices in one place and then take all of our voices to our leaders and demand the change that we want to see.”

Alicia recently posed naked with a peace sign on her belly to promote her message, and encourages others to sign up at WeAreHereMovement.com.

She capped off the show with a powerful performance of “We Are Here.”

André 3000 Talks Jimi Hendrix Biopic, OutKast Tour on ‘Ellen’

André 3000 and Ellen

After attending the premiere earlier in the week, the reclusive André Benjamin stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday to promote the Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side.

One of the greatest challenges he faced while preparing for the role was learning to play guitar left-handed. “I had to make it look like I had been playing that way for years, which is hard,” said the OutKast rapper.

He admired Hendrix’s confidence, but surprisingly lacks confidence in himself. “I’m not really confident in my talents in that way,” admitted Dre. “The only thing I’m confident in is knowing that I’m excited about new things.”

In honor of OutKast’s 20th anniversary tour, Ellen presented him with a custom jumpsuit like the ones he’s been wearing on stage.

As their festival run winds down, OutKast will headline a three-day stint at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park on September 26-28 with special guests Kid Cudi, B.o.B, Solange, Janelle Monáe, 2 Chainz, and Childish Gambino.
