Trey Songz Performs ‘What’s Best for You’ on ‘Queen Latifah’

Fresh off announcing his “Between the Sheets Tour” with Chris Brown, Trey Songz stopped by “The Queen Latifah Show” on Wednesday. Trigga, who turns 30 later this month, sat down to discuss his Angels With Heart Foundation, his “30 Acts of Kindness” campaign, and touring with Chris Brown.

“You can expect some friendly competition as well as what it is that we do on stage together,” said Trey.

The 25-date North American tour kicks off in January in Virginia with special guest Tyga. Tickets are available for pre-sale now.

Plus, Trey hit the stage to give fans a taste of what to expect by performing “What’s Best for You” off his No. 1 album Trigga.

Pharrell Williams Performs ‘Hunter’ on ‘The Voice’

Pharrell Williams unleashed a killer performance of “Hunter” during Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice.” Wearing a green headband and a No Doubt shirt, the music mastermind took the stage with his latest G I R L single. He was joined by his Baes and an audience of women, clad in white robes and sunglasses to resemble his album cover.

He earned praise from fellow coach Gwen Stefani. “OMG how amazing was @Pharrell’s performance!?!? And he was rocking a @NoDoubt shirt I snagged from my storage. So rad!” she tweeted.

Over the weekend, he reunited with N.E.R.D. to perform at Odd Future’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in L.A. While on stage, he also debuted his new collaboration with Gwen called “Spark the Fire.”

Common Performs on ‘The Queen Latifah Show’

Before he kicks off his “Nobody’s Smiling” tour with Jay Electronica on November 21, Common paid a visit to his friend Queen Latifah on Friday. The Chicago MC sat down with his Just Wright co-star to discuss J Dilla’s legacy, being a ball boy for the Bulls, and playing Latifah’s husband on screen. The two even reenacted one romantic scene.

Common can be seen in the Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic Selma, which opens in select theaters on Christmas Day.

“It was really one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had as an actor to date,” he said.

Plus, he took the stage to perform his new single “Rewind That” off Nobody’s Smiling and broke into an impromptu duet with Latifah on “The Light.”

Nick Jonas and Tinashe Perform ‘Jealous (Remix)’ on ‘106 & Park’

The livest audience got even liver when Nick Jonas made his debut appearance on “106 & Park” on Wednesday. The former boy bander kicked off the show by performing the remix to his steamy single “Jealous” with special guest Tinashe.

The pop heartthrob and “2 On” singer also sat down with Ray J and Keshia Chanté‎ to discuss how their collaboration came together. “It’s an amazing song to begin with, so obviously it was one that I wanted to be a part of, so he just reached out to see if I was down to be on the remix and I was like, ‘Absolutely,’” said Tinashe.

“It kinda breathed new life into the song,” added Nick. “The minute I heard she was gonna do it, I was in the car and ’2 On’ came on.”

His self-titled album, which arrives November 10, explores a more R&B sound, and was influenced by everyone from Prince and Stevie Wonder to Frank Ocean and The Weeknd.

“It was a really important thing for me to step into my soul and R&B influences on this record,” he said. “When I was working with my brothers, I didn’t really get to do that as much, but I had the freedom to just go in and create and experiment.”

Prince Performs 8-Minute Medley on ‘SNL’

Eight years since his last appearance, Prince made a royal return to this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live.” The music icon served up an uninterrupted eight-minute medley—a first in the 40-year history of “SNL”—with his all-female band 3rdEyeGirl and guest vocalist Lianne La Havas.

“Ladies and gentlemen, you are so lucky tonight,” host Chris Rock told the crowd while introducing Prince.

To kick things off, he dueted with La Havas on “Clouds” off his album Art Official Age. He then segued into “Marz” off his and 3rdEyeGirl’s other new album Plectrumelectrum, and capped things off with Plectrumelectrum‘s “Anotherlove.”

During the episode, it was announced that Kendrick Lamar will perform on the November 15 episode with host Woody Harrelson.

Run the Jewels Performs ‘Early’ on ‘Letterman’

Run the Jewels made its late-night TV debut on the Halloween episode of “The Late Show with David Letterman.” With some help from singer-songwriter Boots, Killer Mike and El-P shook up the stage with a frighteningly awesome performance of “Early” off their sophomore album Run the Jewels 2, which has been receiving rave reviews.

The hip-hop duo’s tour kicked off in Philly last night. To celebrate, RTJ’s DJ Trackstar put out a mixtape, which can be downloaded here.
