Waka Flocka Flame blasts off with Meek Mill in the trailer for “Let Dem Guns Blam,” another track off his sophomore album Triple F Life: Fans, Friends, & Family (June 12). “Friends turn to enemies, enemies turn to friends,” raps Waka on the street cut. Sneak a peek at the drama that awaits.

Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Music family flew to Qatar in April to shoot the film Cruel Summer, but few photos were seen. In one of the rare images from the top-secret set, Mr. West poses with his crew including Pusha T, D’banj, CyHi Da Prynce, Big Sean, Mr Hudson, Hit-Boy, Teyana Taylor, and Q-Tip, who are all dressed in matching black-and-gold attire.

The film premiered to a star-studded crowd including Jay-Z and Kim Kardashian in Cannes earlier this week. Produced, directed, and written by West, the 25-minute short stars Kid Cudi as a car thief who falls in love with a blind Arabian princess.

“I’m not the best director in the world or anything like that, but I had an idea,” said Kanye, who projected the film on seven screens. “I could dream of, one day, this being the way that people watch movies, in this form where it surrounds you and people want to go back and see it more and more because they missed something else to the left and missed something else to the right, and it felt more like the experience of life.”

GQ described the experience as a “mash-up of high-gloss Doug Aitken-style video installations, concert video backing panels, and narrative, big-budget music-videos,” while the L.A. Times said, “The story is secondary to the pyrotechnics, with new music from West and a thumping surround-sound quality that makes a 3-D Michael Bay effort feel like an iPad short.”

The installation will eventually travel to New York and be screened at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in Qatar on November 19.

During a day off from the “Club Paradise” tour, J. Cole stopped by DJ Drama’s radio show. The Roc Nation rapper discussed his “beef” with Diggy Simmons, touring with Drake, Waka Flocka Flame, and Meek Mill, and playing basketball with his tourmates. Cole, who is currently working on the follow-up to his debut Cole World: The Sideline Story, provided an update on his sophomore album and shared the direction of his joint project with Kendrick Lamar. Hear him out.

On his “beef” with Diggy Simmons: “There’s nothing going on. I’m not even thinking about it. What am I gonna go beat Diggy up? It’s not gonna happen. It’s Diggy Simmons, just remember this. He’s good, he’s talented, but he’s a kid. I was really surprised when people were making that an issue. That’s not the type of beef you want to be involved in.”

On the “Club Paradise” tour: “I think we scared Live Nation the first day. Well, maybe not me, maybe more so Waka. We all out there extremely deep, everybody got their own camp. I got a couple college grads in my camp, so we’re a little less intimidating. Waka and them, they out there deep. Everybody own a Brick Squad shirt, which is cool, but the first day, I don’t think Live Nation was really prepared for all the backstage activity. So next thing I know, you get that memo…”

On their game of 21: “It never ended. It was the worst game of 21 ever. Everybody got their own type of game. French [Montana] was exhausted. [Meek] was slightly suspect with the game. He said he don’t play. [Waka's] the funniest dude to play with. … Drake didn’t play. I don’t think he knew we was playing, plus I think he a little hesitant ’cause of his knee from a couple years ago.”

On the best part of the tour: “You don’t get these no more. Everybody’s hot right now, everybody’s got singles. Everybody got buzz and got their own fan base, so it feels like the closest thing that would have happened in the ’90s.”

On his next album: “I’m deep. I cut a lot of songs. When I first started, I thought I had the album. I’m not married to any song that I make. One day I might make a song that sounds like a mixtape record, just super lyrical, incredible concept, or maybe it’s not for the album. One day I might make a single. I’m loading up my clips basically and at the end of the day, I’ll go and see what’s gonna make it.”

On how his sophomore album will be different from his debut: “I have way more freedom. It’s already improved upon because it’s pressureless. The label didn’t even expect me to do the numbers I did. I haven’t been in this space creatively since before my record deal.”

On his joint project with Kendrick Lamar: “I would shoot for an album. If we end up putting it out for free, then I guess that’s just the day and age we in. I’m not making it like a mixtape, I’m approaching the beats like it was my album. I wouldn’t go into it calling it a mixtape. That wouldn’t be good.”

Fresh off the debut of his new singing competition “Duets,” Robin Thicke joined his ABC family on the “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series. The R&B crooner hit the outdoor stage to perform his soulful hits including “All Tied Up” and “Pretty Lil’ Heart,” also speaking with the “GMA” hosts.

“To be on stage with that kind of talent, it felt like a mini-awards show or something,” said Thicke of performing with fellow mentors Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Jennifer Nettles.

On Thursday night, she returned to “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” to perform “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)” off her upcoming album The Spirit Indestructible, due this September. Looking sexy in a black bodysuit, gold chain, and ponytail, Nelly kicked it into high gear with an energetic set featuring the hoop dancers from her music video.

Janet Jackson wowed in white at the 19th Annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala during the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday. The pop icon, who turned 46 earlier this month, was among the celebrity presenters on hand to help raise $10 million for the fight against HIV/AIDS. The black-tie event, held at Hôtel du Cap in Cap d’Antibes, France, was also attended by Kim Kardashian, Kylie Minogue, and Jessie J.

The British pop star, who recently announced dates for her 2013 U.K. arena tour, showed some leg in a red leopard-print slit dress as she performed “Price Tag” for the rich and famous.

Waka Flocka Flame takes a trip to the wild, wild west in the strange, sci-fi-inspired video for The Cataracs’ “All You.” The hitmaking duo, who’ve produced for Far East Movement and Dev, gets lost in the desert, where they meet a bartender in a saloon who squeezes them a special drink from her breasts.

They start hallucinating about aliens before Flockaveli bursts through the door and makes that ass clap. After spilling a drink on one of the cowboys, they’re called outside for an old-fashioned showdown, but their poor aim leaves their opponent unscathed.

Waka comes through to save the day, leaving in a Segway. Now this deserves a round of applause.

2 Chainz is crossing over. After his appearance on Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend (Remix),” hip-hop’s most in-demand MC remixes Dev’s single “In My Trunk.” Tity adds some bounce over The Cataracs beat as he hilariously rhymes, “My weed smell like armpits.” Pop the trunk on this.
