Rap-Up & Hennessy Host 3rd Annual Pre-BET Awards Dinner

  /  06.22.2017

Rap-Up kicked off BET Awards week in style with its third annual dinner on Tuesday (June 20). Presented by Hennessy, the invite-only event was held at Palihouse in West Hollywood, where an intimate group of guests gathered for the night.

It was an exclusive evening for tastemakers and artists, who joined Rap-Up’s founders and brothers, Devin and Cameron Lazerine, for the special occasion. The guest list included Sevyn Streeter, in a lime green Champion sweatsuit, and Mila J who stunned in a two-piece yellow ensemble. Together, the sexy singers posed as femme fatale gunslingers, ready to shoot up the charts.

“Rap-Up always supports me,” said Mila J. “They’re like my homies in the industry, so when they have something, I definitely come to support. Happy to be here. Get some Hennessy in my system.”

Sporting all black, K Camp returned to toast with Hennessy West Coast Marketing Manager Thuy-Anh J. Nguyen and XXL Freshman KYLE, fresh off his top 5 hit “iSpy.”

“When I first found out that ‘iSpy’ was the No. 1 rap song in America, I held my phone up in the sky, I started crying, I put on ‘We Gonna Make It’ by Jadakiss and Styles P,” said KYLE, “and me and all my homies took shots of Hennessy and cried together.”

Soundtracked by the sounds of DJ B-Hen, the drinks and conversation flowed in the lush courtyard garden, which was immaculately designed by Jeff Brown of Brown Hot Events. Guests enjoyed specialty cocktails including the Hennessy Mule, Privilege Julep, and Hennessy Watermelon, a refreshing assortment, fitting for the warm L.A. evening.

Following cocktails, guests were seated at the exquisitely-decorated tables, adorned with palm leaves and white florals, for a four-course dinner at Mardi restaurant. The menu included shaved carrot salad and halibut ceviche to start, followed by soft shell crab, roasted carrots, ribeye, and wild striped bass. To complete the sweet evening, a chocolate torte dessert was served, accompanied by walnut ice cream, and a Hennessy caramel drizzle.
