Prior to releasing his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story on September 27, J. Cole is planning to drop a new mixtape. In the final part of his interview with Rap-Up TV, the Roc Nation star shared how the summer release will be different from his previous tapes.
“It’s not gonna be The Warm Up or Friday Night Lights,” he explained. “I treated those like albums, this is going to be more of a true mixtape.”
Now that his album is done, he also wants to produce more for other artists starting with Wale’s first single “Bad Girls Club,” and is eyeing collaborations with his fellow Roc Nation artists.
“I’m to that place where my life is about to be stable,” said Cole. “I would love to collab with young Willow Smith. And Jay Electronica, I cannot wait to get in with because he’s a monster. Jay-Z, of course, and Rihanna as well.”
