During BET Awards week, The Game went in front of the lens to shoot a video for “All That (Lady),” the next single off his album Jesus Piece. Rap-Up TV was on the L.A. set of the D’Angelo-sampled song, which features Big Sean, Lil Wayne, Fabolous, and Jeremih. In between takes, the Compton rapper spoke about his upcoming mixtape, new album, and where he may sign next.
His DJ Skee-hosted mixtape, Operaton Kill Everything, was supposed to drop on the Fourth of July, but other things including his family and club venture took priority.
He has a title for his next album (due in early 2014), but he’s not ready to reveal it. “I’m about 85% on it,” he said of the follow-up to Jesus Piece. “I want to make sure conceptually that my mind is prepared to really take that ride and that I can give it to my fans and hip-hop correctly. I just want to sit on it for another few weeks.”
The free agent hasn’t signed a new record deal yet, but he has a meeting with Interscope executives in the next few weeks. “Right now, I’m in that Dwight Howard stage,” said Game, who plans to launch a “Jesus Piece” tour overseas in September.
And is a Cash Money deal still on the table? “I’m considering money,” said Game. “And I would like it to be cash.”
