Skylar Grey just dropped her Alex Da Kid-produced buzz track “Dance Without You,” and she’s getting ready to release her official single later this month. Speaking with Rap-Up TV at the MTV Movie Awards, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter revealed that “Invisible” will be the first single from her debut Invinsible, due this fall on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope.
“I think it’s the song that’s gonna reach a lot of people around the world. It’s not the happiest song, but none of my songs are that happy,” she said of the dark “Invisible.”
The Wisconsin native is planning to shoot videos for both songs before performing a solo set at Lollapalooza in August, and while she’s worked with everyone from Dr. Dre and Eminem to T.I. and Lupe Fiasco, her favorite collaboration is yet to be heard. “It’s on my album,” she said.
Invinsible also includes the songs “Weirdo,” “Final Warning,” and “Building a Monster,” which follows the process she has taken from invisible to invincible—the two words the album’s title plays on.
