T.I. Crafts Edgy, Street Sound with Jim Jonsin for ‘King Uncaged’

T.I. scored the first No. 1 of his career on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Whatever You Like,” which spent seven weeks atop the chart in 2008. The man responsible for helping him get there, Jim Jonsin, has returned to the rapper’s side for his new album King Uncaged, due August 17.

“It’s trying to be a little bit more edgy, more harder—a little bit more of a street feel,” Jim told Rap-Up TV of the direction of Tip’s new material.

However, those expecting another “Whatever You Like” shouldn’t hold their breath. “I’m hoping that we can do something new and fresh,” added the super-producer, who’s scheduled to go back in the studio with T.I. in the near future.
