Fantasia To Join The Cast of "Color Purple"

Fantasia appeared on “American Idol” tonight and announced that she will star as Celie in the Oprah Winfrey-produced musical “The Color Purple” on Broadway. She will join the show on April 10. Quincy Jones was in the audience to confirm the news. Fantasia also performed “I’m Here,” a song from “The Color Purple.”
