In the May/June issue of Rap-Up, super producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins confirms the rumors that surrounded Brandy and Monica’s 1998 smash hit “The Boy Is Mine,” which he produced.

“I think what made that song so special is that they really didn’t like each other and we took that reality and put it right on record. They almost got into a fight, so I had to remove them from each other. It was reality TV before it happened,” Jerkins says. He also reveals that Brandy may be rapping on her upcoming CD.

Pick up the latest issue of Rap-Up to read the rest of our candid interview with Jerkins where he shares his opinion of Brandy’s 2004 Timbaland produced album Afrodisiac, working with Michael Jackson, and his dream collaboration.
