New Music: Chrisette Michele - "Be OK"
You may remember Chrisette Michele from her appearances on Jay-Z’s “Lost One” and Nas’ “Can’t Forget About You.” Now the R&B/jazz singer is about to release her debut album I Am on Tuesday. Her voice is a throwback to jazz singers like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald with a modern day sound.
One of our favorite songs off Chrisette’s album is “Be OK.” Will.i.am produced the track and is also featured on it. I Am is the kind of easy listening album from artists like John Legend, Robin Thicke, and Corinne Bailey Rae. If you haven’t heard her first single, click here to listen to “Good Girl.” Other highlights include “Best Of Me,” “Your Joy,” and “Let’s Rock.” Def Jam doesn’t seem to be promoting Chrisette like their other artists, but we hope she gets her dues.
