From executive producer Mekhi Phifer, This Christmas (Screen Gems/Sony Pictures) is a dramedy for all ages. Boasting an all-star cast (Chris Brown, Columbus Short, Regina King, Lauren London, Idris Elba, Loretta Devine, Mekhi Phifer, the list goes on and on), This Christmas is a classic feel-good movie—the Whitfield family comes together for an unforgettable Christmas.

The cast, both homogenous and entertaining, has a chemistry which jumps off the screen. Moviegoers giggled at many of Chris Brown’s charming comments and cheered at the family’s triumphant moments throughout the film. Regina King’s performance is one that had audience members transfixed, with her complex character and her relationship (her husband is played by Laz Alonso). Lauren London proves that she’s destined for greatness, acting naturally throughout the movie.

Reminiscent of the modern-day Black family, This Christmas offers food for thought and gives viewers content they can relate to. Filled with laugh-out-loud and tear-jerking moments, as well as twists and turns in the plot, the drama unfolds as the story goes on, but in the end the Whitfield’s all learn the true meaning of family.

This Christmas hits theaters November 21st.
