According to Billboard, Janet Jackson’s tenth studio album Discipline will debut at #1 on next week’s Billboard charts with 181,000 copies sold. Discipline is Janet’s first #1 album since 2001’s All For You, but the lowest first-week sales of her career. 1997’s The Velvet Rope (202,000) previously held that title.

In other chart news, Erykah Badu’s New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) enters at #2 with 124,000.

Erykah’s numbers are impressive, but Janet’s are less than stellar considering this was her much-hyped Island Def Jam debut.
