Man Convicted of Killing T.I.'s Friend

The man accused of killing Philant Johnson, T.I.’s best friend and assistant, has been convicted of murder.

A Cincinnati jury found Hosea Thomas, 34, guilty on all counts including murder, five counts of felonious assault, and illegally having a gun after a felony conviction. It took the jury less than a day to render a guilty verdict.

Thomas was charged with fatally shooting Johnson during a gun battle on Ohio’s Interstate 75 in May 2006. He will be sentenced on December 23 and faces a minimum of 20 years in prison.
